If you're looking for a YA mystery to start off your summer with, this is a great twisty one! Just when you think you have the mystery figured out, something will happen to make you second guess yourself. I also thoroughly enjoyed the references to Agatha Christie, even though I've never read an Agatha Christie book in my life.

That being said, I think it was slightly longer than it needed to be? At times, the story seemed to drag a little. But it all lead to a fun conclusion, one that will definitely keep you on your feet.

Amber McCloud has been dreaming of becoming cheer captain for as long as she can remember. But, it's hard to cheer when the quarterback of your team was killed in a car accident. Watching him get replaced has been hard for everyone. However, when they realize that the new quarterback is Jaclyn aka Jack, everything descends into chaos.

For Jack, starting at a new school is hard enough without being scruntinized as the only girl on the football team. It's even harder when everyone resents you. As Amber works to try to bring everyone together, it's quickly clear that the two girls might be falling for each other. Which means, Amber might have to pick a side: love or her dreams of cheer captain.

Thanks to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for an advanced copy of this to review! When you pick up a Dahlia Adler book, you know it's going to be an adorable romance, and this is no different! Honestly, it's the perfect book to start off your summer with.

What I enjoyed about this book from the start is that it's a twist on the classic high school romance. We all know the story where the cheerleader and the quarterback fall for each other. Adler just made it gay. And oh my goodness, does it work so well. Amber and Jack have great chemistry from the beginning, and I loved seeing them evolve throughout the book.

Also, the core characters were just a treaet. I specificaly loved the dynamic between Jack, Amber, and Malcolm. They all support each other when they don't feel it's safe to be out. Yes, they all make mistakes, but they're teenagers! Everything they did felt realistic and teenagery. I was 100% here for it.

However, if you're looking for a book that's focused specifically on the sports, you might be dissapointed in the amount of sports actually inlcuded in the book. A lot of the football is just glossed over. I didn't mind, but it might throw you off if it's something you're looking for.

All in all, I loved this as a start of Pride Month read and can't wait for other people to read it!

This was a pretty adorable summer rom-com, and is a perfect beach read. It has all the summer vibes that you could want. If you want something that isn't going to surprise you and follows a general romance formula, this one is also for you!

I was entertained while reading this, the only thing that threw me off a bit was the screenplay chapters. While I loved the general concept, they were a little difficult to follow in audiobook format. That being said, the narrator for the audiobook was great and I would definitely listen to something by them again!

Such a great ending! All throughout, I really enjoyed the way that the artists played with the art style and the format of the frames. It made the series more exciting and I just liked the way that it moved the story forward. 

Also, that last scene with Kate and the rest of the Young Avengers was just great. Also also, going to look up where else I can read about Wiccan and Hulking because I loved them and definitely want to read more about them!

More of what I loved from the first volume! We get to see more from the core group, and the stakes get risen even higher. Of course, Kid Loki creates chaos and I loved getting to see some development from other characters. Plus, we get a confirmed bisexual character, which is nice to see in a Marvel comic. Now, they just need to add some of this diversity to the big screen!

Okay, I was curious about the Young Avengers, given that it seems very likely that they could make an MCU appearance sometime in the future. And this series was recommend in a list, so it seemed like it was right up my alley! I am so happy to say it didn't disappoint. While yes, as true to any Marvel series, there were things I didn't get because I didn't read all the possible issues leading up to this. But I loved the characters, and seriously hope they get some screen time. I would totally watch it!

What a send off for Wilson! Did I completely understand all the science-y stuff that Bruno comes up with for Kamala's powers? No, not necessarily. But I did enjoy the entire fight sequence with the Schocker, a classic Spider-Man villain. Particularly loved the ending to that one, because it was so entertaining. Definitely interested in seeing where the next writer takes this character!

After getting a panic attack and suffering from anxiety, Kamala kind of just...disappears. Along with Ms. Marvel. So, her friends step up to help cover her absence, but things escalate kind of quickly. I loved seeing her friends step in when she needed them to, and Kamala was able to work through some of her anxiety. After all, it wouldn't be a superhero comic if she didn't take a break, right? 

One of the things that I appreciate about Ms. Marvel is the way it brings Kamala's religious identity front and center. It doesn't flinch away from it and it's definitely a big part of this particular volume. We also get to see the return of Red Dagger, which is always fun! Him and Kamala have a fun relationship.

What I enjoyed about this volume is that the story tackles social issues without sacrificing so much of the story. While it's not necessarily my favorite volume thus far, I still enjoyed the direction the story was taking. We also get to see how teen stick up for each other against the cyber bully Kamala ends up fighting. Just an overall fun issue, I think!
