I used to love this series but I’ve been slowly falling out of love with it and I think this will probably be the last one I read. I’m definitely in the minority with this review but I really struggled to get through this one. I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a standalone because there are way too many characters to keep track of if you haven't read the rest of the series. Even I struggled to remember who was who sometimes.
My main gripe with this book was the dialogue came across as awkward. Everyone seemed to talk to the other charcters as if they were stupid. They all work in similar roles and don’t need the basics explaining as if they are naughty children. It was just weird. Jenna and Dave are also an odd couple. I feel like they were more coupley before they got together than they are now. As for the murder, the hunt was intriguing and I didn’t guess the killer but the ending wasn’t very satisfying. It felt rushed and kind of incomplete. It's not a bad read, just not for me. But if you love the series then you should probably still check it out because as I said, I seem to be one of the very few who didn’t enjoy it as much as the other books.

This book was such a great read. As a horse girl I loved the horsey element. It was done so well and you could really experience the barn atmosphere and the horse world. Emily and Justin were great characters but there were some incredible side characters. Lottie and Dean were hilarious and I need Lottie as my hype girl. I was expecting the murder part of this to be an easy whodunnit but it still had twists and turns. The romance element balanced with the murder perfectly and the dual POV kept me hooked until the very dramatic end. It did feel like Justin was declaring his love when they barely knew each other and had only actually spent a few hours together but whats a romcom without instant love. It was a nice easy read and I will definitely be checking out more from this author.

This is such a fun and easy read. It is very similar to Hazelwoods other books but it’s still enjoyable. She does seem to write one type of couple though. Tiny girl, giant man. This is definitely my favourite of hers so far though.
I loved the chronic illness, diabetes representation. It was so nice to see a love interest not having to hide that part of her life. Elsie was so lovable and it was great to see her grow. Her chemistry with Jack was perfect and I just love an enemies to lovers trope. There are also some great side characters. Both Cece and Greg were amazing friends. In fact, I need Cece as my bestie asap. I also loved the scene with Jacks nan. There are some laugh out loud moments which I love to have with my romance.

This is book 2 in the housemaid series and I feel like everyone and their mum has read book 1. I have to say I didn’t love this one as much. It was still a great read but I found Millie frustrating. Considering everything she went through in book one I questioned some of her actions. I did also see the main twist coming. However, I got way more invested in part 2. I love the different parts and perspectives these books offer and it definitely made the story so much better. There are also several twists and turns to keep you hooked until the ever dramatic ending. Highly recommend this series but you need to read them in order.

I really enjoyed this book. It's full of tropes including enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed and grumpy/sunshine. It's such a fun read. It made me laugh, the romance side is so sweet and it had a mystery twist element. I wish it had been dual POV though so we could have seen Noah fall. I still loved both of them though and they showed so much growth. The crumbling castle was the perfect setting and there are some great side characters. Some of the events were a bit odd, especially the lobster scene but it all worked well together. The mystery sublot added a little something extra to the story. Also major points for a certain event not ending with my least favourite trope.

I loved this book. It was funny, had a touch of spice and the romance was cute. Both Logan and Clare were such lovable characters and their banter was great. I also really enjoyed the friendships and seeing them both interact with each others friends. There were so many great side characters as well as some villains. The dual POV had me hooked and I loved getting to see both sides. The 3rd act breakup due to miscommunication was predictable and my least favourite part but I enjoyed the rest of the book enough to let it slide. I will definitely be checking out more from this author

I love Kendra Elliot. I need to go back and read book 1 and 2 of this series because it's so good. Each book is a standalone focusing on different main characters in the same area. There are so many great characters to fall in love with. This book was an emotional rollarcoaster and it definitely broke my heart in places. I thought it was going to be a pretty straight forward crime but there were still a twist I did not see coming.
Rowan is so badass and her family is just adorable and so damn strong. Thor is obviosuly the star character. What a dog. I really enjoyed the romance element. It breaks up the horror of what else is going on. I was hooked and could not put it down. The ending was perfect and I really hope we get to catch up with Rowan and her family again.

This was such a great read. I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it in one go. My only gripe is that it constantly repeats that people with mental illnesses are terrifying and they're all super dangerous and just crazy. Amy also doesn't come across as a med student and she definitely doesn't grow. However, I was still hooked. It's fast paced and I had no idea where it was going. As usual, Freida packed the book full of twists and turns and keeps you questioning everything until the very last page. There's some interesting characters and Ward D is the perfect creepy backdrop.

Well this book ripped out my heart and stomped on it. That ending was a lot. If you haven't read this series I highly recommend and I recommend reading it in order because there is so much character growth. There are so many great characters and I love getting to see them all. Josie has such a lovable team and an adorable family. Despite a slow moving case with few leads, the pace of the book is perfect and I didn't want to put it down. I had no idea how it was going to end.

This is such a great creepy series. The scene setting is done so well and you can really picture Slayton and feel how eerie it is. The creepiness of the town definitely adds to the suspense of the crimes. I also love seeing more of the recurring characters. It was nice to see Sarah seem more sure of herself in this book and a certain development in her personal life was adorable. The case of the baby bones was heartbreaking and it just got sadder the more information was uncovered. It was written so well though. I also wasn’t expecting anything about that ending. My only criticism was the ending felt a bit rushed and it was all wrapped up so quickly. I also struggle with the obsession with Elsie’s weight and how it feels like people respect her more now that she’s losing weight. Her character is lovable and interesting without her weight constantly being mentioned.
