I really enjoyed this book. It’s a nice easy read which made me laugh and the romance was cute. I loved Lina’s family. It made me a tad jealous that she had such a huge family that had fun parties together. The banter between Lina and Aaron was entertaining. Who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers. The slow burn kept me hooked and I loved seeing the friendship develop first.

I feel like I need to stop reading hyped books because I’m always disappointed. I cannot get my head around why this book is so loved. It’s so boring. I was going to DNF but felt like I had to be missing something. The biggest plot twist was very obvious. I did enjoy the creepy setting and the description of the eerie scenery was well done. However, the pacing is slow and the characters are flat. Also the ending was ridiculous and that last chapter from Sam’s POV was so unnecessary. I feel like the line about someone being “the kind of person who writes one-star book reviews.” was a challenge.
