This is a fantastic series. I adore Madison and Nate and there are so many other lovable characters. They can be read on their own but I do recommend reading them all to get the background of the team and the town. As with the rest of the series, this was a wild ride with plenty of twists and turns. There are a few suspects to keep you on your toes and it was definitely what I was expecting. Definitely a disturbing reveal. It's packed full of suspense and because of the blurb, I was so stressed for everyone Madison is close to. I really enjoy the balance of Madison the cop and getting to know her personally.

I’m struggling with how to rate this one. The hunt for the killer was interesting and I did enjoy the wild ride but then there was a lot that frustrated me. There’s a lot of description of things that aren’t that important like room layouts or her drive to work that slows down the pace. The premise is right up my street though, with a forensic psychologist who survived her own attack from a serial killer. A killer who happened to be her father.
Olivia’s bought in to help on an active case which is something she’s always refused to do. You have to suspend belief because there is no way a real case would be run this way with all the key players being personally involved. Olivia didn’t even seem to be that good at her job. She also tells us how much self defense she’s done and she’s prepared and then makes so many stupid decisions. If there’s a killer out to get you do you invite two different strangers into your home?
Her reaction to a certain terrible event made me so mad. I don’t understand how she was trying to defend that horrific action. Then the ending was ridiculous. It could’ve been solved so easily if she knew how to do her job and let the police do theirs.
I will say that the killer kept me guessing and I was definitely surprised by the reveal. Olivia’s father was also an interesting character. I would be still be tempted to read a second book to see if Olivia has been developed.

I understand the whole premise of this book was faking it till you make it but oh my god there is so much unnecessary lying. There were also so many chances to come clean at a point when it wouldn’t have been a big deal and they could’ve both laughed at it. The friendship developing was cute and I liked them as a couple but is it so difficult to have a conversation. The lead up to the fake dating is dragged out and a mega slow burn. Then suddenly everything blows up and is fixed in 2 chapters. It’s wrapped up so quickly that it felt rushed. If that’s how they wanted to finish it, it would've been nice to have an epilogue from some time in the future. Especially to show how the family worked things out.

I loved the first book in this series but this one fell short for me. I really want to like Billie Ann but some of the things she does are so frustrating. Yes her ex husband is an asshole but he does have a point that she can’t give her children her full attention. She does work a lot and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing but I don’t understand why she argues that she can balance her job and her kids when she clearly can’t.
It is a bit slow going in places but the murder was interesting and kept me guessing but there are a lot of characters to keep track of. It’s also difficult to see where the transcripts from an old murder case fit in until the very end. It’s also a pet peeve of mine when detectives don’t declare that they are connected to the case and then are surprised when it gets complicated and they can’t stay impartial.
Although not my favourite, it’s still a good detective read and I will still pick up the next installment to see if Billie Ann can get her personal life together.

When I started this book I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it but once it got going I was hooked. I can’t believe this is a debut because it is written so well. I adored the different take on the usual crime thrillers. Having the majority of the story from a 13 year old girls POV was so good. Ava is a fantastic character and her take on everything was so interesting. As a fellow girl who was always intrigued by bones, it was refreshing to see Ava portrayed as someone who just wanted to learn instead of creepy and troubled.
It’s set in Birmingham in the 80s and it is the perfect setting. There are so many great characters as well as some you can hate. Delahay is a great detective and I loved the respect he had for Ava and how he welcomed her help instead of blowing it off because she’s a child. It’s not overly difficult to work out who the killer is but this book is more about linking everything together with the motive and following Ava revealing various clues and working out what to do next as opposed to who did it. I devoured this book and I look forward to more from Tierney.

This is set in the same time/place as Stars Collide which I loved so I was excited to dive in and it did not disappoint. It’s such a cute sapphic romance. Taylor was swoon worthy and there was so much chemistry between her and Natalie. You can’t beat a good fake dating romance and this was done perfectly. It’s a bit of a slow burn and the tension really builds. I also loved the vulnerability that both characters showed and can I get a round of applause for characters actually communicating. The way they show up for each other was beautiful.
The stalker element adds some suspense and shows the darker side of fame. There are so many great settings, from being on set to the awards shows and they are all written so well you feel like you’re there. There are also some fantastic supporting characters who are funny and lovable as well as adorable pets. I’m gonna need Noelle’s story asap.
