A very interesting read which I learned a lot from. Prior to reading the book, I hadn’t realised  how involved in activism Mala was before being shot and that  she wasn’t  just a random schoolgirl. I didn’t always enjoy the writing style and found myself getting slightly bored at points. This may just have been because it is the version adapted for young readers and I think I will read the original at some point. Overall though this was a great read which I would definitely recommend!
