A psychological thriller about murder in a small town where nothing or no one is quite what it seems.
Stranger in the Lake was a quick read which was unfortunately predictable and overall left me feeling meh about it. In all honesty, I was turned off early on and just couldn’t switch it back on. Others may fare much better with this one than I did, especially if you’re under 40. Let me explain!

Simply put, it’s the story of the American Royal family you’d be enamored by today if Washington had been King instead of President.
I picked this up on a whim and devoured it, staying up till after 1am to finish it! It’s been on my shelf since last year and I am glad I finally crossed it off my backlist. Oh, and I immediately pre-ordered book 2 which comes out in Sept. bc I’m all in with the American Royal family - I have to know what happens!

Creepy, Classic Wendy Walker - A Suspenseful, Unputdownable, Edge of Your Seat Read !
Molly Clarke's family was destroyed by a terrible accident that changed them all forever. Riddled with guilt and living daily with a family that now seems to hate her, Molly contemplates running away. Maybe they'd be better off without her.
When Molly disappears during a storm on her way home from her son's football game her family is devastated. Her car is found on the side of the road, no gas, phone still in the charger but no sign of Molly. After a 4 day search, the police deem her disappearance a "walk away". Did Molly simply walk away from a life that got to be too much to bear or is there something more sinister at play?
The story is told in alternating chapters between Molly and her daughter Nicole who is looking for her mother. The reader knows what has happened to Molly and we follow her ordeal while also being in on Nic’s search for her mother. When the two plot lines converge - it's magic!
You guys - this book gripped me and never let go! I loved Molly - she was smart, emotional and a kick ass mom. This is my new FAVORITE Wendy Walker book! It had everything I enjoy - mystery, suspense a creepy town with sinister happenings and a great twist!
A huge thank you to Wendy Walker and St. Martin's Press for sending me an advance copy of this suspenseful thriller.

4 stars for this twisty tale of murder, secrets and family
I’m so glad I made time for this book - what a perfect escape read!
14 year old pageant queen, Jenny, is found murdered in the woods and at first glance it appears to be the work of an obsessed pedophile but not all is what is seems in Jenny’s picture perfect life.
Jenny’s sister, Virginia, thinks they’ve arrested the wrong man and she is determined to find the truth. With the help of the lead Detective on the case she digs into Jenny’s life and what really happened that fateful night.
The more Virginia digs, the more secrets she uncovers. Not only did she not really know what her sister was up to in the weeks leading up to her death but it seems she never really knew her family at all.
Deceit, long kept secrets, family dysfunction and unfortunate circumstance play a huge role in this story. I loved the tangled web woven by Amy Green and she definitely threw some twists in there that I never saw coming!

4 Dark, Magical and Haunting Stars
This story was full of grief and struggles. It is a character driven plot that I was easily swept up in. It explores grief, depression, love and ultimately - sisterhood. The Torres sisters do not have an easy life. I was moved by their complicated lives and their grief over the loss of their sister. The love they had for each other and the bond they shared, transcended even death. It was powerful and very well written by Samantha Mabry. I found myself rooting for each sister and hoping something positive came from all the grief and despair surrounding them.
Tigers, Not Daughters is a moving story of sisterly love. It is a shining testament to the age old truth that love can see you through anything for the Torres sisters' saving grace was ultimately their love for each other. The story is dark, sad and at times violent but also deeply moving and beautiful.

4 heartfelt story of love, loss and healing stars!
I loved One Day in December so I was excited to read this latest book by Josie Silver and it didn’t disappoint. It was a bit emotionally heavy at times but it was so heartfelt. I was completely invested in Lydia’s grief and her struggle to find her way back to living and loving.
This was a slow burn which I felt worked well with the story line of healing. Grief is real - it takes time to process through loss. There are ups and downs and moments of madness - Silver captured that all here and did so in a way that pulled you in and made you feel emotionally invested in the journey.
