This is a well performed audiobook. It made it easy to listen to.
The story is a little weird and I got a bit confused at times but that could be partly because it's abridged, and partly because I get distracted by the rhyming. To be honest, when reading or listening to rhyming verse, sometimes I listen to how it sounds and forget what the words mean.
I don't think this should be called the greatest work in German literature by any means. But I get why it becomes a "memeable" character and is referenced in other literature through decades.
I agree with everyone in the reviews that says Faust is creepy. There's nothing much to like about him and that makes it all a little boring. But the story as a whole was easier to listen to and understand than I expected.

I loved the style of this book.
I didn't love the pacing and depth.
I wish that it was a little bit... more.
In essence, this is a fictional memoir. Technically it's about Lucy sitting in a hospital bed, but throughout the book she recounts bits of her life and the characters along the way. She's very reflective and introspective, and I like the sentiments she holds. But I don't feel like I really got to know her as much as just relate to her a bit. Maybe this is an introduction to the series and we will round things out a bit in the next one.

This was an (unnecessary) reminder of why I hate anything to do with current law and politics.
I think it was well written but it made me feel really depressed so it was hard to focus on the story of it. I could not find any character to like or root for. Plus I listened to the audiobook pretty late as it was due and I was sleepy, so the experience was rushed. (That's not affecting my rating bc it's my own fault but worth mentioning that it impacts my review)
I think I want to read something else by the author bc it seems that he is quite good, and I'd like to try his writing on a topic that sits better with me.

I've always wanted a library in my hypothetical future house.
Now I also want a tea room.
This book is engaging, educational, and makes a statement. I really, really loved reading it. It's very condensed, but it contains a lot more than just tea-topics. It's less about tea itself and more about the art of life as it relates to tea-ism. I made a lot of highlights in my digital library edition and I want to buy a physical copy. I definitely need to brush up on history in order to contemplate the references made, but most of this book is dumbed down and summarized for a contemporary-ish western-ish audience so it worked for me. If you're a big fan of patterns, collectibles, stimulation, western artists, etc... you might not always agree with the author. But as someone who generally appreciates more simplistic and natural design, and wants to learn more about Asian history and art, I loved it.

My book club is reading Yours Truly this month, so I had to catch up by reading the first book of the series. I liked it and enjoyed listening to the audiobook.
The one thing is that I didn't love the main character, and I don't think she was very believable. I wish she was a little more honest with herself and others but I get why the author made the choices she did.
It's a very tropey storyline and an extremely cheesy ending, but it was cute and meaningful.
I'm still confused about the acorn hail. What happened there?

It starts slow, but it picks up speed and gets very interesting.
I like the format switching between then and now. It fleshes the characters out well.
I was a little confused about the ending but overall I enjoyed the book more than I expected to and would recommend with TW.
