This was so good! 
It was kind of a random pick-up-and-read and I wasn't expecting much out of it, but it was a pleasant surprise from beginning to end. Stellar writing, lifelike characters, and well placed literary references. I want to join a book club now.

The blurb is basically the entire plot of the book, but it's cute and funny. Loved the narrator for the audiobook.
Tbf I don't really like reading super  graphic sex scenes, plus I listen to most of my audio books at work, so I skipped some brief parts of the book. But if you're into "steamy" romance this is definitely the book for you. 

I loved the detail in Drew's love of photography, nature, and hiking. She's a wonderfully, and heartbreakingly, self sufficient character. I think the author did a really good job of writing an interesting and believable FL. But it would have been nice to have literally anything plot-wise for Jasper. He was a supporting character, not a ML. Because of that, I didn't find the main relationship very believable, or the conflict and resolution all that compelling. 
I would have appreciated a little more depth about Drew's relationship with her sister, and definitely felt that her dad and grandma were too "good guy/bad guy" flat characters for them to have any effect on the reader.
Overall, the story was nice. Cute, and an easy listen. 

This book felt very unfinished and not just because of the ending. 

Everything from the descriptions of the violence and the behavior and thoughts of the main character were very in-your-face, and didn't feel imaginative or realistically written. I loved the main character so I wish she had been allowed to just be, and not constantly overexplained by the author. 

It read like someone decided to write a dystopia-style version of little red riding hood and stopped there, didn't put any more thought into it. I have no problem with open endings in general, or even with unanswered questions about large plot points. But this book doesn't feel like a story that's meant to make you think in the way that open endings usually do. It almost felt more like an unnecessarily long intro into the real story, than a story itself. 

Fun, really fast read.
