I don't know how to explain this, but this book reminds me of a navy blue velvet sunday dress I wore as a kid.

This was better than I expected going into it! I wanted to read something published in 1800 and picked this. It's not difficult to follow and somewhat interesting. I thought I would have more trouble with it. Some of the characters really annoyed me, but Thady sure is loyal to the heads of the estate.
I liked my name-sharing character Isabella and felt bad for her.

I think it's kind of funny that Jason seems to be the most level headed person in the whole story, and Thady's son, yet Thady talks better of literally everyone else besides Jason.

This is very interesting but most of it is pretty speculative. I like listening to it but it definitely felt more like a pitch or and advertisement than real neuroscience or research.

These short stories are all different but it's a great collection because they feel similar.
I liked how intense the authors voice is and how much the stories hold between the lines as well.

Good prequel!
I enjoyed this one a lot and found it even more interesting than the black witch. (And much better than wandfasted). I think it's partly because Sage isn't as slow as Elloren. I grew partial to Elloren with time but Sage is a much more relatable chatacter, and generally needs less character growth for you to respect her.
It's been a while since I read a third book of a fantasy series and still felt excited to keep going, but I really do! The author of this series does a good job of keeping the hype and excitement going without annoying cliffhangers.

I will say the speed of the relationship in this one is rather unbelievable. But at least they go for it instead of the angsty "we can't be together because it'll endanger our families" because that got old in the other storyline.

I've got the shadow wand on hold so I'll continue with the series once it's available.
