This was a great finale! Ah-ma has such a story. My favorite story line is that of Astrid. Many characters annoyed me lol, but it was mostly because most of this was Rich People Problems lol. In true Kwan fashion, the wealth jumped out the book and the last quarter of the book was so drama filled! Great finale! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

This was a good read/listen. As always, the wealth jumps right out of the pages. Although the plot was kinda "meh" throughout until the last 6 chapters or so. It felt like most of the book was the rising action until that point. The last chapters were great! All in all a nice little read. It was kinda long and drawn out, but the end was fun.

What a beautifully written novel! I suggest all black middle school aged boys to read this! It’s so relatable and highlights the emotions young (black) boys go through but seldom (if at all) can express. It’s interesting reading how the main character voices his thoughts vs what he actually says. It’s also interesting watching his brothers emotions though the main character’s eyes! 

Additionally, the novel is written in verse and is so beautifully written. You could HEAR and SEE his writing. The words literally jumped off the page! Fantastic YA novel!

"Wow! I like the voice the author takes as I read. As a young adult not too far removed from my childhood, I find this difficult to read. Why? Because it’s putting words to thoughts and emotions I had as a child, teen, and adult. I’m enjoying this." 
"Just finished Act 1. This is such a well written memoir manifesto!"
"Acts 2 & 3 were very good. They explored his family and his teenage years and experiences. Again, this was so thoughtfully and carefully written. I’m excited for Act 4: Friends."
"I’m in love with this little book!"

This was fantastic. The audiobook was very well narrated. The book itself was easy to understand and make great points. Although it is a YA book, I believe it is perfect for adults. The book didn’t feel like a YA book at all. Facts are just facts.
