I was really loving this book for the first half of the book then I just got bored. I will be reading the next book in the series because I really do love this author.

Thank you Netgalley for letting read and review this book

This is was one of the funniest and cutest cozy mystery I have read in the longest time. I loved that the characters were a little older and then the friendship between Julia, Vivian and Evy was perfect. I need to finds some friends like them. The only thing I really didn't like was that I guessed the murdered after a few chapters. Other than that this is one will be in my top books of 2022. I can't wait to read more from this series and more from Elizabeth Hunter.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher read and review this lovely book. I will also like to think Charlotte Harris for reaching out to me about reading and reviewing this book.

Before I write my review I want to thank Putnam books for giving me a finished copy of The Fervor.

It was the cover that first drew me in, then I read the synopsis, and I knew right then I would love the book. Last year I read The Hunger and that is when I fell in love with Alma Katus. She is also the one who got me to read more horrors. Her writing is beautiful, the story telling makes it hard to put down.

With The Fervor you could tell it as a little more personal than her other books and that is what I really liked about it. Growing up I didn’t learn about the internment camps in school, it wasn’t until I graduated and started to really get into history that I learned about them. It felt like it was something America wanted to forget. There is a quote that really made me stop and think, am I doing this?

“Maybe he was afraid of the hateful nature of his fellow whites-well he could afford to pretend it didn’t exist because he was white, too.”

The theme of this book still can be seen today with all the hate going on in America with all the anti-Asian racism.

Alma Katsu has a wonderful way of drawing you in and making you feel like you are watching the story unfold. I started not liking spiders but now I can’t even look at them the same. I would definitely check the CW/TW before you read this book. There is a scene in the book that hit me a little harder than I thought because I am going through it right now. I really do highly recommend this book to anyone who loves horror and history, it was a great blend of both. My heartbroke and healed with the characters, I got attached to them all. I will be reading a lot more from Alma Katsu.

I absolutely loved this and the art is perfect. Hades and Persephone is one of my favorite myths along with Eros and Psyche. I will be looking for more of Allison Shaw's books and art.

This isn't the type of book I normally read and I loved it. This is also the first time I annotated an ARC copy of a book. I liked all the characters to a point and what they brought to the story. I loved that this book a me guessing from the start. There some I trusted right away any others I knew I shouldn't trust. It was a good pace of reading and it was very easy to read, even with all the science talk. I will be reading more from Erica Ferencik ever soon.

I have never read anything by Daniel Kraus until now, and this book drew me in because of the cover. Then I read the synopsis and I was hooked. I am a lover of horror and true crime, and I loved how this fiction book did both justice. It is written like a true crime book along with footnotes (IT IS FICTION), and that was the biggest thing that drew me to the book. It had me looking at ghost and fast food places a lot differently now. I highly recommend this book to lovers of horror or even horror comedy cause this had me laughing. I have put all of Daniel Kraus' other books on my ever growing TBR.

Thank you Netgalley, Raw Dog Screaming Press and Daniel Kraus for letting read and review this awesome book
