Amazing satire that manages to get perfectly recognizable versions of Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Slavoj Žižek without actually naming them. War Beast, a killbot, is the result of the "Project for a New American Sentry" (get it???) and there's a religious group that wants to spread infection because viruses have a sacred right to life.

Meh. There are some familiar jokes here, but the volume as a whole is dated enough and derivative enough (some of the jokes appear to be reskinned versions of jokes featuring other ethnicities) that I'm reconsidering my respect for his other compendia of jokes.

This is both a guide to writing interactive fiction and a guide to using Twine to do so. About half the content is about the creative process and about half is technical.

Subversive my butt, half of these would sell like hotcakes to the Live Laugh Love crowd.

Brilliant, detailed, stark illustrations bring this tale of resistance against totalitarianism to life.

My only request? Volume 2, and then 3, and so on. These are fantastic.

I’m well above the target audience’s age, so what felt to me like a tutorial-level puzzle in a mobile game (

) is probably more exciting for middle grades readers.

The most satisfying emotional moment by far was the older gentleman towards the end who said “
SpoilerYou shouldn’t have had to save us. You’re children.
” — some MG/YA protagonists don’t get that kind of affirmation.

Ahhhh this is so completely cute! I’m so glad not to have any kids but I bet they’d love to have this story read to them.

Seems like good advice, especially for UK residents who want to See The World.
