I loved the concept of this book. Empowering and positive, to teach children of color that they are amazing.
However, I didn’t care for the font or the illustrations. And the rhyming was often strained and forced which took me out of the story.
Excellent concept. Just didn’t hit the mark.

For a children’s book this one was heavy. I spent so much time reading and re reading pages because the ideas in them were so big yet simple. Race, gender, justice, religion. You name it and all of the big hot button topics are here. While this book is targeted to a younger audience I absolutely think anyone could take away a new point of view from its pages.
I loved the illustrations and the colors. And I loved the content. I need to have this one when it is released in a solid form so I can re read it and really have A proper look at it.

Ahh a fresh take on girls in fairytales. We are all fearless in our own ways. We are or just witches or princesses or evil step mothers. We are fierce. Warriors. Builders. Adventurers. This was full of stories and tales from all over the world about strong fearless girls. Tales to lift us up and allow us to be more than the stereotypical two dimensional fairytale character.
Bright and simple language made this dinosaur counting book enjoyable for my son. It was great how the names of the dinosaurs were sounded out as well.
This was a cute, educational book for children about how the weather works, as well as safety during storms. I personally found this book fun to read to my son. It kept him interested. Between the easy flowing rhymes and the beautiful pictures, he followed through til the end of the book. It’s a book I will definitely keep on hand as my son (and niece and nephew grow) to explain storms and alleviate their anxieties.
