I'm obsessed. I'm engrossed. Book 3 please, now please.

This second book feels like a proper party of adventurers forming, with new and returning characters creating a team that I'm excited to see take the next step in their quest.
I love the plot - simple enough to guess at, and yet because of the incredible world building, and how the characters are so cleverly given the pieces to put together, it feels simultaneously deep and rich.

I'm also an absolute sucker for powerful beings who have had something taken from them and relatable 'villains'!

I listened to the Noisy Crow Stories Aloud audio book recording of this that came free as a QR code on the endpages of the book.

I would definitely recommend listening if you can. Having the story read by Martina Laird, who is herself from Trinidad, just adds something extra special to the words and art (which is saying something, because the art is gorgeous and the story is wonderfully paced).
