I love the Dr Suess-ness of this book! The rhymes flow in the same kind of way, and it's got that kind of parental message that most of his books do.
It's a very art nouveau style of illustration... in fact, in its own way it also kind of reminds of meg and mog with the black background and bright colours.
Just a nice, classic kind of picture book which reminded me of the kinds of stories I read to my siblings.

A sweetly illustrated and simple book of counting. Perfect for group participation and new Spanish learners.
The animals aren’t overly simplified, so children will still be interested, and has a fun little ending.
This book could easily be made into a simple role playing game with a large group of children.

Note: I read this as an individual without any kind of sight loss.
This book is a perfect basic knowledge and understanding book. From my position as a teacher, it is the kind of book that would be perfect for introducing and educating children about the world of reading with sight loss, getting to know the differences every individual deals with day to day, and the ways they overcome these.
Braille books being just one of these that I think should be a basic requirement to stock and use as a teacher.

A great little environmental book for younger children. It focuses on the bright colours and simple text, but also has engaging flaps and cut outs in the pages, and extra information about the benefits of each activity.
The book would definitely be a good talking point for Early Years or Foundation children, to begin thinking about their impact on the world around them, as well as their own well-being.

I love this handy little book.
This book is going to be a must have for any classroom I work in. It’s a wonderful, simple, and colourful book that represents every type of family.
I expected to have some issues with the book, as there is always something missed out of a book like this. I usually feel excited to share it with others, but also worried to have not covered every possible base. I only had one minor point of this book (which is much less than usual) and that was the explicit use of gendered language (ie. “brother or sister” instead of a neutral “sibling”) which is much much less than I can usually pick at, so I’m considering that a win for now!

Absolutely loved this book!
The illustrations are wonderful and include labelling to help children be reminded of what they’re learning along the way.
It does a great job at talking about historical term, literary terms and sparking children’s imagination, and about feminism and the reasons it’s important to recognise important historical women.
Would definitely recommend for when teaching children about historical literature, famous authors or feminism and female writers.
