The book itself is an extended poem about the scientific make up of our earth. Accompanied by beautiful pastel looking artwork, it has a kind of dreamy quality that children would enjoy.

The book discusses two stories from Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Science theory.

I enjoyed the selection of stories and their comparative origins and could definitely use the book in the future.

The author also has notes on the side of each story which discusses the religion, context, or asks wider questions which we’re very helpful towards understanding.

Definitely a good book that I may use in the future.

The art style isn’t my favourite but I can imagine it inspiring children and creating lots of conversation.
The subject content is also more of a specialist subject for children who are already interested in cars.

It is quite detailed and tricky to follow so would recommend for older children of adult led reading.

The art is definitely something that could be used in conversation with children, as Dandelion slowly adds colour into the black and white lives of his school friends.

The classic story of Madeline, a well known children’s character, translated into French which I picked up on holiday in Paris years ago.

I’m very familiar with the English story, so love to read this every now and again to remind myself of my mostly forgotten French vocabulary, but always surprise myself with how much I remember.

A wonderful little book about an independent and head-sting young girl and her family during the women’s suffrage movement and the beginning of the war.

Although brief and simple in plot, the characters were all perfectly rounded and interesting, the narrator wasn’t annoying or hard to like, and the educational and moral value was perfect.

I will definitely be keeping this in mind for teaching in the future.
