Light and fluffy, like snow, but fun. I enjoyed that the three authors intertwined their stories so characters could re-occur.

What an odd little duck to have in the YA section at my library. Midwinterblood follows seven different lifetimes for two souls who yearn to be together. The timeline goes backwards, which is a super cool concept, but unfortunately when I got to the end I did not find much to make me care about their struggle over eons. Lots of creepy weird blood sacrifices, people who don't age, halluecineginic orchids, and Vikings. Also, sometimes the souls were brother and sister, or child and adult, so I didn't know if it was simply being together or a sexual/love relationship they were striving for.

Quick read, thought provoking, but I wish there was a bit more meat to the story. I like to feel something about the characters I read about and I didn't really here.

According to so many I know this is a seminal work in the comic book verse. I see why, but for someone who is pretty new to the field I was a bit lost. I enjoyed some of the characters, especially Dr. Manhattan, but found the few female characters superficial. The ending felt a bit rushed after the lengthy lead-up. Thanks has to go to Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell for inspiring me to read this in the first place :)

Super cute and awesomely well written short story about how Zuzana and Mik finally got together. It is nice to see these characters get a little extra time. Laini Taylor is a master word-smith. Can't get enough.

Hilarious. I did listen to this on Audiobook and I think this is the best way for memoirs sometimes because the narrator (and author) can really add the right tone to the book. I loved her take on motherhood as it is similar to my own (irreverent). My favorite chapter was the details on how she became "Sarah Palin" on SNL. Totally blows my mind that she only knew she HAD the part the day of the shooting of SNL. Crazy.

This lady sure is angry. Now that I know why, I'm slightly indifferent.
