Basically FFM smut with some vegetable abuse. Very light on emotional development and very heavy on the banging. Fun for what it is, definitely not recommended for the faint of heart or those who want a reason why a hot prince is suddenly in love with a glorified maid and the hot rich "princess" who employs her. This is a contemporary but felt like historical fiction if that makes sense? Definitely something though wow.
Delightfully spanky holiday novella! Ooops one bed, fat heroine, and domineering aristocrat. Delicious.
So, basically this book is my entire bag of catnip rolled up in a JGL-inspired wrapper. A hero who can rock a bespoke three-piece suit AND a white t-shirt and jeans AND a flight suit AND knows how to take charge and submit in bed? I die of perfection.
Jon meets Heather over a sexy game of roulette at a casino, and a series of escalating dares leads to them having the hottest hotel room hookup weekend ever. They both live and work in Las Vegas, and they reconnect when Jon sends Heather perfect birthday flowers (matching her hidden tattoo). While they both are obviously gone for each other, both have very severe hangups over feeling worthy of love and of being abandoned, so they fight their feelings the entire story, while continuing to bang it out.
There is a LOT of sex in this book. So much sex. But, I never felt like it was gratuitous. Each time Jon and Heather connect, it furthered their romance to another level, whether they knew it or not.
PS> if you enjoy p*gging, well, this isn't *quite* that, butt you'll see ;)
ALSO chaise content is ON FIRE.
Please check out this back-list gem.
CW for alcohol use by a secondary character and discussion of character's past sexual assault (I consider it assault, the character maybe does not) when she was blacked out.

Kate Cooper is running her sick mom's tiki bar in Florida while also struggling to find her footing with her own career and trying to find health insurance for her medical condition. So, when her former high school crush turns up at the bar on leave from his dangerous job as a military contractor, she doesn't really have time for one more thing on her plate. But Damien is too hard to resist, especially since he's been waiting for ten years to finally make Kate realize how much he's always wanted her.
Their fling has an expiration date, until Damien proposes Kate become his wife for his insurance.
I loved the concept of this romance but the story arc didn't exactly work for me. The big conflict was Damien leaving and Kate needing insurance came very close to the end, and then resolved very quickly. We are also left just moments after the wedding not knowing how they as a newly married couple would handle Damien being deployed for a year.
That said I am intrigued to read more by this writer.
CW: Kate's mom has breast cancer, but there is no death. Kate was slut-shamed in high school because she made out with Damien.
I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review.

I never got into category romances specifically, but holy wow I am realizing I should have been reading the Blaze Line (and I guess it is no longer). I picked this up based on a JenReadsRomance rec and I'm so happy. Meg Maguire is also Cara McKenna (who I've been meaning to read) and this is just an absolutely delightful, sexy, and fun romance between an ex-pro MMA fighter and the big, sexy, clutzy carpenter who is just absolutely bowled over by her prickly charm.
It is so rare to find a blue collar romance and this one is extraordinary. Both Steph and Patrick struggle financially due not to their lack of hard work, but because of the economy and the nature of their work. Patrick having to explain to Steph he couldn't afford fancy dates was so real, and so lovely to see depicted. Steph aspiring to date a man who could take care of her was, while a bit cold-hearted, also very real. I loved how these two came together, and how the book ended on a HFN.
PLUS THE CHEMISTRY. Wow. Off the charts sexy.

An upcoming and coming interior designer loses her business partner then impulsively kisses a sexy stranger at her best friend's New Years Eve engagement party, leading to a hot hotel one night stand. Or so she thought.
Erik Jordan is astonished the beautiful woman he had in his bed all New Years Eve night left him high and dry with only a sassy mirror message. He's the one who leaves in the morning! But as Erik is forced to take the helm of his family's makeup company due to his father's misdeeds, Erik finds out the company hired to redo the business's interior is none other than the woman he can't stop thinking about.
Between pride and duty, Sylvia and Erik find themselves unable to fight their attraction while also struggling to make sure both of their careers don't implode.
This was really soapy with tons of family drama and hot red lips. I personally wanted more about Erik's career as a makeup chemist and a bit less of the drama, but overall a fun read.
CW cheating (not by main characters), alcohol use,

Erik finds out his assistant, who has a crush on him and makes a pass at him, is his sister. Oh my.
A Halloween-themed joint Bachelor-Bachelorette weekend brings Savannah and Lincoln together, ending with a relationship they won't be leaving in Vegas.

So a beloved Twitter friend asked for a searing enemies-to-lovers romance, where the love interests clearly LOATHE one another but also clearly need to bang it out. Well, Queen Sarah MacLean offered up Her Best Worst Mistake and holy shit this is perfection.
I've highlighted over 50 passages from this story, and all I can really say is that I adore it. I need to do another re-read or you can follow along with our live-Tweet with #BestWorstBuddyRead.
Also, I really appreciated Violet's worry about how her falling for Martin would affect her best friendship with Elizabeth (who Martin is engaged to at the beginning of the story - don't worry they are completely broken up before any of the romance begins). This is a difficult trope, and it is handled SUPERBLY.
CW: there is a fatphobic comment near the end of the story that was just really dumb and unnecessary.

Snarky bartender at a resort bar finds herself wildly attracted to the hot hockey player who's recovering from a knee injury but is astonished to learn he's a virgin, with a bounty on his v-card.
Fun contemporary with great characters, I loved the great banter and tension between Dahlia and Anders, and the fact Anders virginity wasn't used as a joke or a secret.
