Sweetly saccharine love story between artist Paige and small town mechanic Brendon. When Paige is forced to move back to her small town and in with her parents after her stupid boyfriend dumps her, she soon finds love with the town's mechanic.
That's really it. there are some small test to their relationship, but really it is just about how long they can not have sex, then when they do it is bunny rabbits. If not for the somewhat graphic sex scenes, this could be considered Christian Romance.

Standard romance with an MMA twist. Sophie and Caden had a bad first impression - she knocked him out with her move camera while filming a TV segment, knocking him out both literally and from the MMA competition he was scheduled to fight in. After this incident Sophie is fired and looking to make a comeback with a documentary about mixed martial arts fighting, and of course Caden is on the tour she hooks up with. After many many trials, will their sparks ignite love?
Fun times, but the story was very bogged down with plot points. The characters need to contend with poverty, near-rape, drugs, lying, etc, and I found myself skimming ahead to the hotter parts. I think a bit of streamlining would have done this story good.
Would make a good eBook addition to a library catalog.

Much like the second book in this series, Blood Magick was repetitive. Focusing far more on battles and rhyming magick incantations than the actual romance between Finn and Branna or even the friendships between the other characters, I just didn't feel super connected to these folks as I normally am with Roberts works. I feel the time spent on the supernatural elements cheated the dialogue and character development. I still enjoyed the trilogy, but definitely not my favorite by far. I much prefer her contemporaries.
BUT gotta say the cover and packaging of this novel is simply gorgeous.

**Actual rating 3.5 stars.
When Eleanor walks in on her boyfriend giving it to another girl and then receives a phone call summoning her to her Aunt's estate in England all in the same day, she leaves NYC with barely a look back. She is soon embroiled in a mystery involving the women in her family, Emily Bronte, and a new guy named Meadowscarp Macleod (just another way to say Heathcliff)... Is Eleanor actually seeing ghosts? What will she do once she inherits this massive estate on the English moors? Will she commit the same mistakes generations of women before her have made?
Very atmospheric, very beautifully written, but at times I was like really? Ghosts? Descendant of Emily Bronte's fake love child? More ghosts? But then I was like oh, hot English guy building a library? Wandering the moors? MOORS! Rain! Sexy-time on the MOORS IN THE RAIN!? OK - suckered in. Fun, gloomy, yet romantically satisfying. A nice, easy read for a dreary start to summer.

Kennedy is the marketing manager for a matchmaking service and is constantly on the lookout for her next challenge. When she lands new client, astrophysicist Ned (soon re-christened Nate), she's in for the biggest challenge of her career. Can she transform this socially awkward geek with the heart-of-gold so he can find a soul mate? Or, will she fall for him in the process?
That is the simple explanation for this novel which sets up like a My Fair Lady, but surprisingly there is so much more to love. I thought this would be twee, but I actually really enjoyed the ride! Both the main characters had depth, hang-ups, and loveable flaws. I was a bit dubious of Kennedy's body issues (she was formerly a self-described fat girl) and her sexual assault, but Probst deftly handled all of it and made it real and not just a plot-driver. Nate's handling of the situation was also exemplary for a man in a romance novel.
There was also lots of light-hearted moments, fun dialog, and funny references to Nate's 'research methods' into the female psyche (he reads Cosmo and erotica like 50 Shades of Grey), so when we find out he is killer in the sack (despite lack of a lot of real experience)it doesn't seem fake.
Read while you are working out, you won't be too disappointed.

Aspiring singer Emme meets bassist Tom after playing a gig at his bar. Sparks immediately fly, but when Tom joins Emme's tour, her other band mates warn her to not make the same mistakes she made with her last band, mistakes that caused it to implode. Tom also has problems, including dealing with a bar that barely makes enough to cover expenses, a sister on the road to self-destruction, and some sexual appetites he needs the right woman to fill. Will their sparks ignite, or explode their band's fledgling popularity?
Well considered me surprised. I thought this would be just another romance about rock stars, but Shelley Ann Clark turned many of the cliches over and found interesting, and well-written, territory to explore. Instead of Tom being the Alpha male, Emme is definitely the driver in their relationship. No wilting flower virgin, Emme knows what she wants, what Tom needs, and isn't afraid to let both of them fully enjoy it. Also, when problems arise, both characters are allowed to deal with them maturely. Emme doesn't leave her tour to help Tom, and Tom doesn't shirk his family responsibilities to stay with the tour.
So besides being pretty hot, this didn't make me feel guilty for reading it. Bravo!

Fans of the alpha-male meets innocent and troubled young ingenue will find much to like in Carrie Lofty's Blue Notes. The Louisiana music school setting was unique enough to keep me reading, but I found the romance itself a bit been there done that for my personal tastes. However, the writing is sparkling and it is perfect for a quick beach read.

This is a novella, but I've read many a short tale where the characters were fully realized and not just caricatures. Alas poor Sienna. Should she choose the well connected and great looking Dave who help her win a show at his Aunt's prestigious art gallery? Or should she choose Erik, the poor model with the bod of steel from her life drawing class? One can get her her head's desire, the other can soothe the fire in her loins. What's a girl to do? I'm sure you can already guess.
Oh, and of course when she has to let down the man she doesn't choose, she can simply give him away to her friend who really wanted him all along. Plus, the guy she chooses actually turns out to be a millionaire in disguise and she gets her art show! What! Of course. Perfect fairy tale, the end.
I'm sure there are fans of this perfectly fake contrivance who will enjoy this novella, but I'm not really one of them. I would only recommend, with hesitation, as a purchase for an eBook library collection.
