Shooting your future husband may not be the best way to start off a mail-order bride marriage, but Regan Fontaine finds herself with high hopes after finally meeting the handsome doctor she's supposed to wed, regardless of the bullet she put in his shoulder. Colt wasn't expecting the denim wearing, rifle-toting, wealthy heiress he only knew from letters, but even he with his jaded heart starts to feel a glimmer of hope. But, will their new marriage stand up to the trials and tribulations of a small Wyoming town?

I've finally read a Beverly Jenkins, and it was so great! The characters are well-rounded, and while I didn't start with the first book in the series I never felt lost, even when meeting characters from the previous books. I especially liked all of the historical details, the clothes, the cooking, the work that went in to running a household in the 1890s American frontier. Plus, all of the other historical details AND the great author's note at the end giving readers homework to look up the historic events mentioned in the story (I shan't mention them here).

My only slight gripe is that I wished more action took place on the page. A lot of major events happened off-scene, and were just recalled by characters. Um, if a one-eyed mountain lion is taking people down, I do kind of want to see it happen!

Thank you to Avon for the ARC!

Perhaps one of my favorite contemporary romances and the book that made me fall for author Jill Shalvis.
I adored Chloe's spark, her quirks, and her drive. Chloe may have also been the first heroine I personally read who had a very real health issue, asthma, and had to actively think about her actions and how she lived, including during sexy times. Sawyer is also a great hero, and his insistence on working with, not coddling, Chloe's asthma was super sexy and eye opening to me.

I'd like to thank this book for making me fall in love with contemporary romance novels. My re-read made me fall in love all over again with Chloe and Sawyer. I mean, a hero who researches the heroine's debilitating asthma so he can help give her orgasms without sending her to the ER? Yes, please. Sawyer is frustrating, but his actions are reasonable and real. Reminds me a bit of my own true love <3. I also totally forgot about the mud bath scenes, and love the interactions between Chloe and her sisters.

Elinora Browning, once a shy miss who longed to marry her childhood sweetheart, has made her mark on a society with a pamphlet entitled "Lord Ashwood Missed Out." Slated to give a reading and a talk at Lady Pauline's Spindle Cove lending library, she is unexpectedly delayed when she runs into Lord Dashwood and is stranded with him after a carriage accident.
Dash is out for revenge, as Nora's pamphlet has led to quite a bit of embarrassment for the Lord who did indeed miss out on her love. Past regrets, still burning desires, and a slightly dumpy lean-to shelter bring both Nora and Dash back to each other.

A cute story, and I love when the male character is
Spoilera virgin
!

Dash was a mixed hero for me. I hated that he deceived Nora multiple times, but all in the name of his love for her. Just tell her man! And yes, while the map thing was cute, you COULD HAVE WRITTEN SOME LETTERS. Still a delightful way to pass the time as I adore Tessa Dare audiobooks. I also loved seeing all of my favorite couples from the previous novels.

Hard working, no-nonsense Harper catches her dud boyfriend cheating on her and decides to get tattooed, while drunk, by the disgustingly sexy Vik who just happens to be one of her past conquests. He doesn't remember her. After agreeing to being fuck buddies, they bang all around Las Vegas, and eventually realize they are in fact, in love.

I'm getting tired of the "hot, male tattoo artist teaching repressed young virginal girl how to let go" trope, but I guess not tired enough to not finish reading this short, novella length selection from the new Dare imprint. The character development was uneven and I wished some of the insignificant details were left out.

Why did Harper have a past with Vik? I never felt this was resolved in a sufficient manner to actually matter to the story. Also, after Vik runs away when Harper admits she loves him, I didn't buy his quick turnaround.

The sexy times were steamy, and I appreciated the cat rescue.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC!

After years of torture and abuse, Millie turns her serial killer mother in to the police. As she awaits the trial of the now notorious "Peter Pan Killer" Millie is sent to live with a foster family and to try and live a "normal" life.

But, Millie is worried she will become her mother. She still hears her voice. She still hears the voices of the nine little somebodies her mother killed. Her foster sister is a horrible bully that brings out the worst in Millie.

Will the good wolf or the bad wolf inside of Millie win? Depends on which one she feeds...

Super horrific and compelling premise, but the ending was such a disappointment! The narrator was most excellent, so still worth a listen.

The title really says it all. A decadant romp through Asia's wealthy, elite society, and the characters who get sucked up into the vortex. An excellently narrated audio book that is so over the top it veers into parody, but a fun romp.

Economics professor Rachel Chu had no idea her boyfriend Nicholas Young is from Singaporean family worth billions. Blind-sided by his glittering world, she tries to navigate the perilous world of match-making mamas, private jets, and multi-million dollar weddings.

Nick, obvious to his girlfriend's massive discomfort, believes his family is coming to adore her as much as he does. Nick's mother, Eleanore Young, is determined to end this relationship once and for all especially after she finds out a juicy bit of bad info on Rachel.

Other characters enter the story, including Nick's cousin Astrid, a beautiful socialite worth millions who's concerned her sexy (poor) husband is having an affair.

The ending is a bit abrupt, but definitely will leave you wanting to pick up book 2. I'm also excited to see the movie, because it will translate well to screen. The MASSIVE amounts of descriptions of objects, clothes, and homes will be a delight to the eyes, but was overwhelming while listening. I often felt like fast-forwarding through them.

Molly has a secret career as an erotic romance author. She's come home to Tumble Creek to get away from a creepy ex and to find new inspiration for her next novel.

Molly's original inspiration, the uber sexy police chief Ben Lawson, is dying to know what Molly's job is, especially since he is desperately attracted to the funny, adorable, and outgoing minx. Molly's afraid to get involved, but their mutual attraction leads to some awesome sexy times and love.

Putting a bit of a damper on their fun is the kind of scary things happening to Molly. She hopes it isn't her ex and just when she's about to come clean to Ben, the truth hits like a truck.

Super fun, great banter, hot sex, and a characters who both have flaws but don't lie to one another. Molly is forthright about why she won't share her career with Ben and is honest when she does. Ben, for his part, is a sexy, stoic lawman with a decidedly hot streak and a fun spirit.

Dahl did a great job making a creepy ex (a police negotiator) who convinces everyone around Molly that she is the crazy one. Super real, super scary. I loved that Ben didn't buy it.

Patrick "Patch" Donnelly is pretty annoyed about being sent to yoga instructor Margot Kowalski for help with his anger management issues. He's a Boston Catholic boy, and something about yoga seems somewhat..blasphemous. Not to mention the very sinful feelings he begins to develop for his sexy instructor.

Margot is bouncing back from a controlling relationship she is looking to forget about, but there's something about Patrick that makes her want to try again. There is one little issue...Patrick is a virgin and Margot is most decidedly not.

Mixing business with pleasure is not something either of them wants, but may be what they each need.

A splendid addition to the Hellions Angels series! I loved Patrick, and I adore a ginger virgin (see Outlander!!). Super cute, super steamy, tons of fun!

What a great little story I didn't even know I needed (or wanted). Told entirely from Opal's perspective, this is a lovely glimpse into her life at The Barns post-The Raven King. The hints of Adam and Ronan's relationship are like delicious crumbs. I can't wait for the entire cookie!

After slowly and methodically stowing away money from careful gambling at the Vega Club, card sharp Sophie Campbell knows better than to gamble her future away on one risky, scandalous bet. But when novice Jack Lindeville, Duke of Ware throws down a wager-double her savings against a week alone with her-even Sophie can't refuse.

Alas, despite the good odds, Lady Luck has a devious and ruinous sense of humor. Facing certain ruin, the end of her careful plan to amass a small fortune and attract a respectable, if boring husband, Sophie is whisked away to the Duke's country estate.

Jack, entranced by Sophie since tracking his way-ward and gambling addict brother into the Vega Club, is appalled at himself. Stuck by weather with the too-appealing Sophie, they find themselves tumbling into a torrid affair both are sure cannot end in anything but a disaster. But perchance Lady Luck's favor is turning...

JUST angsty enough to make you devour this in one sitting, I cannot wait to read additional books in this new series! Fans of Sarah MacLean's Never Judge a Lady by her Cover will adore this one! A great flip of the trope, it was fantastic to see our heroine be the gambling-savvy, street smart realist. I loved that Sophie had her own home. Plus, the tension and build up to the sexy-times was to die for. Slow-burn with a big pay off.

My only quibble was the complete lack of discussion of the risks of pregnancy. It seemed a bit odd this never crossed either characters' mind even once. There was a lot of pre-marital boning...
