A plan to steal a copy of Playboy sets in motion a new friendship for a boy and a girl both obsessed with programming and creating computer games. Set in the 80s, this will be the perfect nostalgia read for those searching for their next [b:Ready Player One|9969571|Ready Player One|Ernest Cline|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406383612s/9969571.jpg|14863741] or Stranger Things fix.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC

A cute Christmas time story based on the power of redemption and not making snap judgments based on rumors. The Christmas tree farm and sales lot setting reminded me a bit of Stephanie Perkins' short story in the YA anthology [b:My True Love Gave to Me: Twelve Holiday Stories|20309175|My True Love Gave to Me Twelve Holiday Stories|Stephanie Perkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1459353572s/20309175.jpg|28143699], but really worked here. While a bit "after school special" for my personal taste, this is a great recommendation for those seeking a gentle romance for the holiday season.

I devoured this book in one day, and I really can't write a review to do it justice. The plots revolves around the the consequences of Nadia's secret relationship with her preacher's son, a relationship that ends when she decides to terminate an unintended pregnancy. Titled The Mothers, the book revolves around the different choices the many 'mothers' of the story make, without passing judgment or trying to force morals down your throat.

The author did an amazing job drawing parallels between the different types of mothers Nadia, and the other main female character Aubrey, had, and Nadia's own realization that while she continued her life by having an abortion, her own mother made a very different choice (resulting in Nadia).

The POVs jump around between Nadia, Aubrey, and the preacher's son Luke, and the author plays with time, but I never felt confused. Lyrically written, and with a lovely addition of a "chorus" of black women who are the elders in the characters' church, I found myself compulsively re-reading sentences to further absorb the beauty. So so good. Highly recommend.

I read this, and it was fun. Girl dressed up as footman to try and blend into a wicked Duke's household. Of course, this goes as well as can be expected.

A really dark middle book in this series following villain in the making Adelina as she truly finds power in her darkness. Will the sacrifices she make be worth it?

At times the action scenes become a bit of a slog, and I wish there was more character building, but still a really awesome YA trilogy.

As someone who also spent many of her post-College graduate years working in customer service, I found Tomsky's memoir very relate-able and hilarious. Tomsky also narrated the audiobook, and it was great to hear these stories and tips in his own voice. I will definitely be thinking about this book every time I check into a hotel from here on out. Still don't know if I have the nerve to hit up the mini bar and dispute the charges....

On a side note, Tomsky has a great NYC accent and talks very fast. I however did find out it was made even faster because I had accidentally sped up the narration using the Overdrive for Libraries audiobook app. Ha. Still totally worked.

Awesome! After a few slow volumes, I finally feel like I've been given some concrete crucial information and the story is progressing. I especially enjoyed the addition of the Amish "ninja assassin" and the continuing little Wisconsin-specific details (TRILLIUMS!!).

Raven's dad ran away with Dalton's mom, both ending up dead in a horrific car accident. Raven hates the Pierce Brothers because of this, but they do not know she is the daughter of the man who they believe "stole" their mother away from them. Now Raven is a successful business owner and she needs her antique bar restored for an upcoming feature news story. Dalton is the best, but can she put aside her personal feelings, and his all too tempting flirting aside?

This had all my favorite things - enemies to lovers, witty banter, really great build-up to the sexy times, and an awesome lady who basically has her shit together and the man is more of a bonus. There was also a man-bun hahaha.
