challenging funny
Plot or Character Driven: Character

Very interesting way to tell a story about the treatment of Asians in Hollywood though sometimes exhausting. Excited to watch the show to see how it translates to screen.
emotional funny lighthearted

Despite it being a little long, this was a really fun, (mostly) frothy read. I like how the author will throw in some serious topics (mental health, etc) without sacrificing the fun of these stories. This being a sequel, I was already familiar with and rooted for the main characters, and their ending did not disappoint.
inspiring

An excellent autobiography. I need to listen to that first Julie Ruin album again.
emotional hopeful

Gorgeous artwork, sweet story, the 16-year-old in me really loved it.

Cutest story I've ever read, really loved the main characters, there's a really emotional scene in the middle of the book that I really felt, not gonna spoil it though.
adventurous dark tense medium-paced

Great read! If Winnie the Pooh and the rest of the Hundred Acre Wood hunted Christopher Robin. Violent, gnarly, fun, and very well-written. Looking forward to reading the authors next book.
emotional funny inspiring fast-paced

I read a lot of middle grade fiction for my job, and I absolutely loved this one. I can't wait to recommend it to my students. I think a lot of them will love Ruth.

I don't think this book was for me at this time. I'm putting aside for the future.

It was taking far too long to get the real story started. I left on page 97, and she hadn't started investigating the murder of her classmate yet.
