Unoriginal premise, boring characters, annoying writing, and a nonsensical and slow plot. I only gave it two stars for the slightly more interesting ending. Will most likely not be reading the sequel!
i finished this book so quickly; i literally couldn’t put it down until the last page. also my head hurts from crying so much
Breathtakingly beautiful. I was so attached to the characters; I cried when they cried, laughed when they laughed. The deaths were heartbreaking, but so well written. A forever favorite <3
my favorite things about this book were the discussions about the intersections between race, class, and gender and the writing style. the way the author intertwined two scenes together was so unique and beautiful. the “wizard lessons” are helpful mantras that i can see myself using in everyday life.
