3.5, the bones are so good. I wish the prose was a bit more flowery if that makes sense? Sometimes it felt more YAF than dark academia 

Palahniuk is always a treat. I wish I could read this before the film came out. I think it would've been a lot more engaging.

I think the bones of this story were great. I think it could be trimmed down considerably to be a tighter, more engaging story

This has been on my tbr since high school. Even though it's a short read, my time still feels wasted LOL. Orwell's work loses a lot of power when you realize he was a snitch with no moral fortitude. Fuck Orwell. All my homies hate Orwell.

I've avoided Sally Rooney for a long time because her characters have seemed insufferable...they are, but perhaps so am I.
