I think I just don't like Courtney Peppernell's writing style. I just didn't vibe with this book. On a different note, the drawings were fricking adorable. 

The vibes were not here. All of the characters were so bland and similar I could barely tell them apart. The supernatural-ish aspect was cool, though. 

I actually liked the fae-aspects of this books, I don't like them in most books. The plot was interesting and I was never bored while reading it but the ending was so chaotic and didn't really make sense. 

It had great potential and there was nothing horrendously wrong with it, but it kind of read like mediocre fanfiction. 

The writing is just so beautiful and so vulnerable. It's one of the best poetry collections I've ever read. 

Honestly, this book is so boring and the characters are so horrible, the only way I was able to finish this was if I skimmed through the whole book. I really hated it. 

I wanted to read this book because of the queer representation and the inclusion of issues like emotional abuse and alcoholism, but all of the over overshadowed by horrible writing and pacing. It is 2023, why are we still including Harry Potter references and slut shaming in our books?

I enjoyed the politics and the inclusion of the steampunk-esque body modifications. The story was definitely interesting, but didn't feel very unique or creative. I've read so many books with the exact same premise. The plot felt very rushed and the antagonist wasn't "scary." He kind of just felt like a normal politician. I wished the author would have expanded on not just the antagonist's motivations, but everyone's motivations. Characters did stuff for completely random reasons. Overall, I enjoyed the book but it wasn't anything special. 

I liked all of the characters, but I feel like the book wasn’t long enough to show any character development. 

Summary of the book: Too much incest and a whole lot of nothing.
