It was a fun short romp about a ‘classics’ student (I say ‘classics’ because unfortunately she is actually an English major who studies classic literature and no one ever gets this right but fine whatever, she studies THE classics not CLASSICS) who ends up sleeping with her polyamorous professor who happens to be a vampire. Honestly I only picked up this book because I follow the author on TikTok and thought it would be fun and it came out today. It was fun if not exactly my style, the author clearly has a love for gothic fiction and the tropes that go with that which are not always my fav. The beginning started out a little rough and the internal monologue of the main character a bit trite but as the story went on I began to grow fond of the characters and they were all decently well fleshed out. I felt like the book was a bit short and could have done with a few extra chapters to sort out some of the non-interpersonal related plot which was kind of random seeming but it does look like this will be a whole series so theoretically something that the author will get to later. All in all I feel like she tried to do a little too much but that all the pieces are there, just could have done with a little more fleshing out.
