I only picked this up to complete the StoryGraph reading challenge of a travel memoir. It’s also on the Rory Gilmore reading challenge list.
I ended up enjoying this more than I thought. I, myself, have gotten into hiking and specifically want to hike the Grand Canyon, so this resonated with me.
It was a beautiful story of finding oneself, examining life, and understanding your needs.
I enjoyed the structure of the book and how there were jumps in time, but it all flowed together pretty well. It gave backstory and wasn’t too distracting.

I really enjoyed this easy-to-read and understand history of the lgbtq+ movement. It’s meant for kids, but as a 30 year old, I got so much out of it. It was informative and inspiring, and I learned about so many new moments and people who have created and helped contribute to this movement for equality. I enjoyed the historical pictures and how the information was laid out and organized. I’d highly recommend this book to anyone.

I absolutely loved learning more about Claudia and Soren’s backstory through this graphic novel. It was a very fast read, but I still felt there was more depth given to Claudia, and I really want to know what happens next with her “pure heart.”

I’m a huge fan of the tv series, and I loved reading it as well. This was pretty much verbatim of what the series offered in terms of dialogue and plot. However, I enjoyed that the book showed more backstory, specifically with Viren, Soren, and Claudia.
One thing that irked me, that’s definitely a personal preference, is that the narrator is in 3rd person, but the pov switches from character to character, and not necessarily in a smooth way. The narration gave information on what the characters were feeling and thinking, so when it switches to another characters pov in another paragraph and bounces back, it got a little jarring.

This was a lovely memoir of short stories. I loved this perspective of a black, gay man navigating life, trauma, and his identity.

Very interesting and fast read! Read for the StoryGraph 2023 Challenge of reading a popular science book.

So the mentally-challenged guy is treated like shit and not given any real help. And the one female doesn’t have a name. Doesn’t pass the Bechdel test.

I loved how informative this was! I will admit I picked it up because it was quick and I could add it to the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge, but I didn’t expect to want to actively take this approach and tidy my home. I’ve always wanted to have a cleaner house and I’ve done what I could, but I didn’t realize exactly how many tips and ideas I’d get from this. The concept that one huge tidy session is all you need is incredible and ends up making sense. I know I just have to be brave enough to start it.

I didn’t know what to really expect from this, but wow was this entertaining! The authors writing is so casual but hilarious and witty. I was able to really appreciate some of the short stories where the author spoke about the French language and his time in France. Id highly recommend listening to the audiobook because the author reads it so well - exactly how it should be read. And there’s also some live performances scattered here and there that add a little more life into the book. Not to say the other chapters aren’t full of life as well. It was just nice to hear these jokes with live timing and an audience laughing along with me.

I liked this way more than I expected to. I hadn’t read it because of the whole plot starting with a dead dog . But luckily, I was able to pretend it was something else and the plot continued forward quickly.
I thought this was written really well and it was a great insight into mental disabilities.
