*Reread July 2018*
This is my first time going back and rereading the first Throne of Glass book and all I can say is, LOOK AT ALL THIS FORESHADOWING!

I will admit that going back, my love for the characters has shadowed how much of a pain they were in the first book, but I think that this shows that they are growing.
I original read this book when it was first released and at the time I felt the story was dragging and was slightly confused (that being said I wasn't as strong a reader as I am now and found reading very tiring.) but rereading it now, I understand it better and am looking forward to all the foreshadowing to come.

Also... Nox Owen! I love that man so much!

I loved this story, although it is not my favourite in the series, and am looking forward to reading on and getting deeper into the series and story.

*First Read November 2012*

*Reread August 2018*
This is one of my favourite books in the Throne of Glass series!
It's full of action and I just love it so much. The characters are great and we finally get to see some of Aelin's court together.

This book really starts bringing things together and starts drawing things to a close (even if we still have 3 more books to go).

Plus we get more of my baby Elide, Manon and Lorcan!! I love these nerds so much!

*First Read November 2015*

*Reread September 2018*
I thought reading this for a third time wouldn't hurt me like it did the first time. OH HOW I WAS WRONG!
That being said rereading this made me pick up so many little things I missed the first couple of times I read it (I was checking every little thing) and now I am ready to get into Tower of Dawn and finish this reread!
I am both excited and dreading everything.

P.S. ELORCAN FOR LIFE!!!

*Reread September 2017*
After I read Tower of Dawn I needed to reread EOS, I just needed to read about these characters again and make sure I knew everything I needed to know.
and yet again my heart is broken!
I am crying over Lorcan and Elide all the time and all the other relationships in this book!
I need the last book now please because I need to know how all this will end.

*First Read 2016*
I'm okay... I'm okay...... I'M NOT OKAY!!
This book was amazing! The character were perfect as always and there was certain character relationship I was not expecting but damn did I love them!!
So many twist and turns! I need book 6 now please!

*Reread September 2018*
With Tower of Dawn complete I have officially finished my Throne of Glass reread!!
I got so much out of this reread and have so many theories going into Kingdom of Ash. I just really hope all my babies survive the last book and nothing too bad happens in the end... because I will cry... a lot.

“It was agony and despair and fear. It was joy and laughter and rest. It was life, all of it...”

Well Sarah you have done it again you amazing goddess of the written word, you have written a book that not only has broken my heart but made me want to go back for more and feel that lovely pain all over again. Well done.

When I heard that Sarah had decided to make the novella she was writing into a full book, therefore pushing the final book back a year, I will be honest I was upset. Not just because we would have to wait until 2018 to get the final book of this amazing series but also because I was having issues with liking Chaol, if I’m being honest I didn’t like him a whole lot.

Now before people get upset please hear me out.

After everything that happened I understand that Chaol has issues with Aelin, heck I have issues with her, but he was so mad at her, magic and everything else that I struggled to keep the affection I had for him since Throne of Glass. So hearing that a whole 672 page book was going to focus on him and Nesryn over in the southern continent, well I wasn’t too thrilled. But as a lover of the series I knew I needed to read this book, and all I can say is I’m so glad I did.

After spending a whole book with Chaol, following his journey as he got his spine healed, which can I say was so brutal at times I had tears in my eyes just trying to imagine what he would be going through, I have come to love Chaol again. He is again the character I loved in from the first book and I am now so worried about his safety all the time and what will happen in the last book.

Let’s talk about our healer Yrene. That name sound familiar? Well it should, we met Yrene back at the beginning, in The Assassin and the Healer. That’s right everything has come full circle!

I loved Yrene, she was such a strong character and I’m pretty sure she was the creator of sass because she was sassier than the Queen of Terrasen. It was so great to watch her develop and fight her own demons to help Chaol as well as herself.

Oh and I’ll also mention that from the beginning I shipped them!

I know a lot of people were on the Chaol & Nesryn ship, but I didn’t really have a ticket, I was more standing on the dock happy to see the ship there but I was not on board. (Is everyone getting sick of my boat metaphors?) So when Nesryn left with Sartaq to the Eridun Aerie, I was more than happy when she left the note saying she held him to nothing and held herself to nothing as well, that was just a written invitation for my ship to sail!

When Nesryn left for the Aerie I found her chapters took me a while to get into, I felt as if they were just filler chapters to get all the information out and it wasn’t until later when the really good information came out that my interest was peaked and her chapters became more interesting.

This is not to say the Nesryn is a boring character, I have always liked her and it was great to see her character develop more throughout this book. It was also great to see how she was constantly thinking about her family. As I myself am a very family orientated person I could relate to her thoughts and feelings.

Some of the information we got had me so shocked that I actually yelled “What?!” while I was sitting on the couch reading, I might have given my mum a little shock but finding out what Maeve actually is was so shocking it just needed to be expressed. The events that took place in Tower of Dawn will greatly affect the events in the last book, I mean it could actually change what will happen all together.

Rating-5 Stars- Amazing! I loved it!!

When I closed the last page of this book I was filled with so much love and then instantly dread.
We now have Chaol, his wife Yrene (YAY!), Nesryn, Sartaq and the army gifted to them by the Khagan, travelling through The Narrow Sea heading home to help Aelin and Dorian win this war.

The only thing is they don’t know what has happened to Aelin or what is happening at all. I have no idea how they will find out where to go or how they will meet everyone, but I do know I can’t wait for the final book in this series.

I know that the ending will be bitter-sweet, but I am looking forward to it all the same.

Bring on the final war Sarah! Let’s watch as the Valg get squashed!

Happy reading everyone!
Jess

My heart is so happy and full!!

Full review to come, when I can properly put my emotions into words, because at the moment my thoughts are just a jumble of pterodactyl screeches and random memes!

This series just keeps getting better! I feel like the series has been growing with me and is giving me exactly what I'm wanting at the right age.
There was action, mystery and a good amount of comedy that helped me get through a reading slump.
Even though Midnight isn't as good as Resurrection was, it was good in its own way.

I am so excited for the next book and I'm really looking forward to see how Derek will shape this part of the series, as it has clearly changed from the original part of the series.
