UPDATE: rating increase since reading the second book. the second book had nothing on this first one. therefore they cannot both have a rating of 4 stars. 5 stars it is!
okay, so thought i'd jump on the bandwagon to see what all the fuss was about wholeheartedly convinced that i wouldn't like the style of story at all, as the concept really didn't appeal to me and that i'd find it boring and regret ever deciding to pick it up.
at the beginning i didn't think much of it and the first 25+ pages i found to be quite a bore, but once i pushed though it i was converted. once i got halfway through i found it hard to put down. especially once the hunger games actually began. i kept wanting to know what was going to happen next and because the style of story is so unique i genuinely didn't know where it was going or what would happen or what the characters were going to be facing next.
i think i need to read the next book to really uncover my true feelings for the characters as i don't feel my interpretation of them as it stands now is a truthful one. i feel more of a connection to Peeta than i do Katniss. i feel under the impression that Katniss acting innocently as she is, is a game player. wholeheartedly knowing what she's doing. Peeta i see being much more vunerable and i connect to that more. will my connections and interpretations of the characters change after the next book? i'll have to wait and see...

i read this book in a single sitting today and i honestly cannot remember the last time i read an entire book in one day. (i think it was probably a Lauren Conrad book... lol)
i think because this was just a quick easy read and i enjoyed it because it was like a really tacky version of sex and the city (the show - not the book) and i enjoy things like that mainly because they're fun, easy reads that i know i'll enjoy.
it wasn't written brilliantly and it was especially witty or smart but it got four stars mainly because i just enjoyed it (it may also be because i'm away from home and i'm missing my girlfriends and all the random crap we talk about together..)
i wouldn't recommend it if you don't enjoy satc or annoying chick lit women reads..

the story of Ernest Hemingway and his first wife Hadley told through her perspective. I enjoyed this book, it began to drag about two thirds of the way through and then picked up a little towards the end.
i would have liked to give it four stars, but it just didn't hold my attention the entire way through the book. all in all a good read.

This book was partially frustrating - the way it went into the future and back into the past. I often at times got confused what was going on or where she was or how much time had passed etc.
I did enjoy the book but did find Eveline to be a victim due to her own self faults and not due to the people around or in her life, which more than half of the time she tried to pass off on other people. The story came across to me as she enjoyed being a victim as she never made any effort to change her circumstances or the people in her life. It was just frustrating to read most of the time, especially when I wanted to slap her half of the time.
I think it was too long. I felt the story was never going to end, with a lot of the story pointless & unnecessary. A lot of little stories could have been deleted from the story.

Easy read. I literally read this in about 40 minutes.
There wasn't anything good about this book. It's basically like reading someone's journal chronicling their life lessons (basically someone who is stuck in a bubble of self obsession.)
I enjoy reading books like this because really when it comes down to it I'm nosey and like to know everything (I don't really even like Alexa Chung that much and being Australian, I actually have no idea why she's famous..) so I read.
I didn't learn anything and I don't think I necessarily lost brain cells either.
I guess it was a book to make some cash off of her name filled with nothing exciting really.
(She's also not a very good artist. Her drawings look like the artist Napoleon dynamite, and we know his art was questionable..)

As this book was based on the film I knew it was going to be almost exact to the film that I love love love endlessly.
The book itself is impossible to find now. So I read a free book off the internet, which was obviously ideal unless you want to pay a fortune for one released when the film originally was. The problem with this was endless spelling mistakes and grammatical errors which drove perfectionist me nuts. Obviously this is no fault of the author or the original published works. It just drove me batshit.
It was good and I enjoyed it. But it will never be as good as the film. The film is perfect.

i don't know why i enjoyed this book so much. usually i find books with a storyline such as this incredibly self involved and extremely irritating. maybe it was the main character Nate wasn't a pain in the arse compared to books i've read of a similar theme with male lead characters - this was definitely much better than i was expecting.
i don't think it's a book for everyone and whilst i'd recommend it, i wouldn't recommend it if you weren't a fan of Catcher in the Rye, Anthropology of an American Girl etc.. similar books to these genres - i'd probably call them the American movement - books about teenagers growing up - usually always set in New York and always trying to find themselves on some level or another.
i wouldn't say it's a favourite yet, but i think i'd definitely read it again to go back and pick up on the little bits i may have missed the first time around.

i don't think i need to give further reviews for the rest of the books in this series, as they're all going to say exactly the same thing.
easy and fun to read (even if at times it is frustrating..)
i will say the evil bitch in me was oh so happy when all of her out of control spending and debts were revealed - splashed throughout the daily paper. all i could think was "haha.. you got what was coming to you you silly bitch." - even then she acted as if she were in a dreamworld. possibly the most delusional character in a book, ever!!

this was definitely not as good as the first book.
the first third of the book i found tedious and a little boring, but once i got past that the rest of the book flew and it reminded me much more of the first book; in regards to writing style.
ties up the first book nicely.
