I enjoyed the precocious little Flavia, though at times i was a bit incredulous of her knowledge. I figured out the mystery before she did, but that did not make her adventure any less fun to me.
I wanted to like this. I really, really did. But I simply could not reconcile the Mr. March presented in this novel with the man who raised the girls in Little Women. He was just too different from his children (who were far more overtly religious than him and not vegetarian).
It might have stood fine on its own, but as a peice tied to a classic work of children's literature, it failed.
