This is a starter kit on how to treat your money rught so it can take care of you. This book has information you will not learn at school if you not an accounting, business or economics student but its the type of knowledge that can be life changing. Tt is the type of book u will never finish reading because you may need to go refresh on a certain topic at every other point in life depending on what sort of financial advice is paramount to you at the time. read it if you in debt, trying to figure which debt is worth it, just trying to avoid drowning in debt and you need to know how to make your money work for you. it is written in a way that is easy to understand with little to no use of financial jargon and covers topics that are relatable to most South Africans and probably others to.

"I am not from America. I am an African from the amaMpondomise clan. My totem is the brown mole snake, Majola. I believe in him not fo you, not for your fellow villagers but for myself."
This is an account of how one prophecy- or not by Nongqawuse split one nation into two. The supposed prophecy One half believed the prophecy, the other believed she was a porn sent by the brits and lied about how she got the message to manipulate her people into bowing to the coloniser.
It shows how the xhosa people lived before, during and after the so called British civilisation ever hit the shores of the coast. It also exposes just how the coast was colonised and it's people deceived. An account of how times have changed and the evolution of the people from both sides of the prophecy or lie- believers and non believers.
Another thing that stood out for me is how Camagu's South African-ness was questioned given he was in exile, and didnt participate in the struggle to bring SA to its democracy. How he struggled to get a job because he wasnt part of some supposed elite networking group, the fate we still suffer to this day.
Also how desperate Xoliswa Ximiya to lose who she was as a black Xhosa woman to fit the narrative of black people outside her culture she met briefly in her "travels". Her judgement for people who held on to their tradition and cultural norms bothered me, alot!!!
The book was witty, educational and allowed me to tap into some part of history without being too intense, did not expect the ending at all... At the same time provoked my thought process on the systems in place post-apartheid and if they are really to help everyone or a certain group, alot for me to unpack.

A soft type of romance, it witty and sexy.the humour in this book was top tier for me.Luc has a relatable personaly and sense of humour. he is also raw and real with faults and abondonment from growing up withan absent father, who by the way i hate . i love his mom for being supportive, she is funny too. then comes Oliver who first bored me with his rigidity and constant need for control, it was only when i met his parents that i could excude how he turned out. i hate his parents too because they are the source of all his insecurities. as a boyfriend, i loved him for Luc, the just worked without trying. this book was like reading emotions i have long wanted to put down on a page, its not a particularly sad book bu it will tap into your emotions.
there were some side characters i will not remember, they fell flat and their roles could have been cancelled so to further develop the other characters who were showing promise, help them be more prominent and strong since they could have easily fell short if it was not for their constant mention. the ending was so unnecesary, too much was happening all at once, most which could have been easitly avoided, it just try too hard and the twist fel trhough and dissappeared.

A book worth its hype!!! I was late to the grisha party and I dont think I have words to explain how much I loved this book. All i can say is read it!! I took long breaks while reading it so savour what I have read so far and marvel at this beautifully written masterpiece!!its that kind of book, you dont want to end.
At some point I was sweating, losing breath and my mind all at once.. I could live through the characters anfeel how they felt.skme of those who already read it know this feeling and those who haven't, just don't already.I need a few days to gather my wits before I read the sequel, I' ve been told it surpasses this one in greatness and I need to be ready!!!

there is little to none to be happy about in this book, it is sad and heart wrenching at best. at firts this annoyed me because i had hoped for little victories, symbols of hope. It was until i realised that my priviledge is making me ignorant given there are people who live this type of reality and for genrations their country has been under such harsh realities. this book was my undoing, each time a glimmer of hope was shattered my heart bled. this is the book you read when you want your soul destroyed. it may be a work of fiction but the back drop of this book is based on the real lives of wiped genrations of p*lestiian people, it shows just how much nothing has changed. it is as informative as it is heartbreaking. this is history and this is real life.
Fictional story of Solomon Mahlangu's life shortly before he joined the ANC, his training/mission, his capture and his martyrdom. It is based on true/factual events. Not necessarily a great book but does what it was meant to do, tell the story of a young man and his attempt to liberate his country.
The atrocities of the apartheid government will always infuriate me. Triggering at most but I probably will never stop reading on this part of my history, because it led to this moment, right here, right now, where things aren't great but it had been worse.
