What the River Knows

I might pick this up in text the audio book made the characters insufferable.

I  picked this up randomly and I  am so glad I  did. The behind the scenes peak at the silliest musical on Broadway is so fun and insightful. Such a pleasant read

I dont really understand the hate in the reviews. I loved the characters, they all made sense to be there and there was just enough info about them to keep them important in the story. I felt like I was reading a lifetime movie. Drama, suspense, humor, its worth the read.

This author always sneaks up on me and I love her writing. Give me all the moody midcentury marital drama. I love an idea that women were just as alive as men at the time. The fact that she was stepford in appearance and homemaking, in reality she is is just as trash as men. I loved it. The ending two chapters were great, I love the imagery of the pool and her skin, the way her husband was so manic, the outliers in the cast were so crucial.

I am pretty sure this book lost a lot in the translation, it seemed almost dumbed down. I liked the story then all of a sudden you would get this block of text that seemed so out of place and young.

This book had so many random elements that I was not expecting in a Dear Diary book. It felt like a standard novel with dates added in to make it fit. The supernatural was weird....the murder mystery was weird...the faked deaths again odd. I understand these all fit the setting of this book because of the wild west however it was just meh.
