Oh boy. This book came so highly recommend and for the first 275 pages I understood why.

Then there is the ending...... do authors know they don't have to wrap everything up in 10 pages or less?

I was tearing through this book , read it in about 4 hours, and was so excited to see how Mary would wrap everything up. As you are given the details of what actually happened 11 years ago you can help but search for more.

From the armature sleuthing, to the rich characters, and the bobbing and weaving of the truth, it was wonderful. Till it wasn't. The end felt manic and rushed, there was no rich detail, everything that built up to it seemed to over shadow it. It felt like the conclusion paragraph of a college essay written at 11:59 for its 12am deadline. Just flat word salad with nothing but jump cuts and depressed people.

I gave a 3 star for the build up the ending get at best 1 star.
