Susan is just like any other child. She sings and laughs, swings and slides, smiles and
cries. Even though Susan has a physical disability, she shows that she is still a kid who knows how and loves to have fun with her family and friends.

Alan loves interacting with animals, but seeing the lonely female jaguar locked up in the Bronx zoo also makes him very sad. Alan tries to voice this, but his stutter makes it difficult to communicate clearly...that is unless Alan is speaking with animals. Alan finds out that his stutter seems to stop when he is talking to animals, and he uses this knowledge to make a big difference for the jaguars living in Belize.
Uses some negative language.
“Disturbed”, “disruptive”, “will always be a stutterer”, “I still feel broken.”
The story focuses on Alan’s stutter, but it also highlights the amazing things that Alan accomplished, like creating the first-ever jaguar preserve in Belize.

Callie and Charlie are twins, and they have a close friendship with many similar interests. Callie tells the reader about Charlie's interests and what he likes to play. Callie and her family notice that sometimes Charlie becomes really quiet and seems distant, however. After visiting a doctor, Charlie’s mom is told he has autism, and the family learns that just because Charlie may not be able to say the words “I Love You”, he is still able to show his love in so many ways.
Uses language that does not make disability seem outplaced.
Focuses heavily on ASD but in an informative way

Zara and Moose are a perfect team, but Moose doesn’t like that he cannot go to school with Zara. When Moose shows up, Zara always says hello, but when he is made to leave, she must say goodbye. Moose hates goodbyes and tries and tries to only have hello. Finally, Zara comes up with a solution to not have to say goodbye anymore.
Neutral language
Only mentions the wheelchair once to talk about the tests Moose has to pass.
Does not focus on the wheelchair, just on the silly, goofy dog.
