I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book more than the first one by this much. Whilst the first book switched back and forth between Rhen and Harper's point of views this book allowed us to glimpse into Grey's point of view as well as another character. I didn't have a very strong attachment to Grey or Rhen in the first book, but I did want to have the friendship between him and Rhen developed more. I think this second installment did a great job of balancing out the first book by rounding out the character development of any of the side characters from the previous installment. I absolutely loved Grey and warmed up to Noah, Jake, and some new characters that were introduced. We get a new female character introduced and she is competes with Grey for favorite character currently. She and Grey have a lot in common and it was great seeing them get to know each other and see that for themselves. Looking forward to more of that in the sequel. Rhen wasn't a super likeable lead character even in the first book and this book doesn't do much for him in that department. However, I'm convinced that he is written that way intentionally and I'm expecting that the third book will explore his vulnerabilities more. By the end of the book it is clear that there is more going on than meets the eye. The ending is nothing but intriguing and I'm glad I waited to read this book because otherwise I might go crazy waiting. Highly recommend giving the sequel a chance if the first book was not your favorite, it might surprise you.

**TRIGGER WARNING: rape, sexual abuse, physical abuse, child abuse, domestic abuse**

This book is a written apology the author wrote from the perspective of her abusive father. The topics addressed are heavy and may be triggering for some readers, so I would take that into consideration before picking it up. For me, it was cathartic as the author's sentiments are communicated strongly through her writing. It's clear that she suffered greatly, as anyone who has been through abuse does, especially child abuse. Despite its strong content, I think that reading this may be relatable and will help any abuse victims feel like they are not alone. Strangely, it is something that I think many will find comforting. I commend the author for being so willing to share so much and I'm sure it will be as cathartic to many readers as it was for her.

Relaxing poetry that is also dark, reflective, and at times hopeful. Some of the structure is messy and some of the poems could have used better prose. Still, enjoyable overall and will definitely reread when I just want to chill.
