Chick goes on a bad date, comes home, spirals, and then self harms. I feel like this would have been a good Black Mirror episode.

Sadly, I was kind of over Denise towards the middle of this book. She's just so stubborn and infuriating. This man just wants to shower you with love and good dick and you just want to fight every step of the way. I wish we had seen her seek out therapy to help with her obvious daddy issues.

With that said, reading is subjective and I'm a Virgo so I am over analytical and supercritical which is not always fair.

I have enjoyed seeing Denise and Hugh grow, I am very interested in what's going on with Cleo. I feel like this story had a lot of emotion combined with lots and lots of really good spice.

I did not read any blurbs on this so I had no idea what it was about. I just knew it was gay and involved a camp. Why I didn't put two and two together and connect a conversion camp is beyond me.

I really liked this story. Our girl Rose is part of a religious community that seemed to blend several mainstream organizations including Scientology and Mormonism. She lives in a small town where most are members, everyone's watching, and the church has a hand in all aspects of your life. From your school to your medical doctors.

I went into this thinking it was going to be a slaughter, instead I got a psychological horror that analyzed religion, morals, demons, and featured a neurodivergent FMC who while far from bad ass, pushed for answers and did what she needed to do to rectify the wrongs.

I hope the movie rights for this have been sold. I feel like this story would make a fantastic think piece.

There's Dark Romance and then there's DARK AF EROTIC SHIT and this book is in the latter of those two categories.

I picked this book up after seeing a review where someone said it was too much. I'm here to say that reader has obviously never read Audrey Rush, S.J. Ransom, Yolanda Olsen, or the controversial Nyla K.

Cause baby, this story would fit right in with the works of those women. It was taboo, unhinged, fucked up, and left me the reader seriously considering my own sanity for being turned on by the depravity. A bitch needs to say a few Hail Marys and throw some salt over my shoulder after reading this.

Yes, he's a stalker, he drinks her blood... he drinks all the fluids.... he watches her 24/7, he's possessive, he drugs her, there is non-con, there is assault, there is a lot of disturbing shit in these pages. But guess what?? IT'S NOT REAL, IT'S FICTIONAL. If you are going to pick up this book you need to have the mental and emotional capacity to understand that this is not real. No living breathing human beings were injured or unalived.

If you like dark shit and want to take this on, I promise, there is not a damn thing wrong with you if you find your body and your brain at having different responses to this story.

I really enjoyed this wild ass ride. It is another example of how talented and multi-faceted Darlene is because the last few books I've read by her had an entirely different vibe. If she writes it, I'll read it!
