I know that the Atlantis series was written early on in Gena Showalter's career. So I was not expecting anything as good as her Lords of the Underworld. But this book was far more enjoyable then the first. Compared to Heart of the Dragon this book was a homerun. It was far more detailed about the land and character history. It set up future stories for many and I look forward to reading them. So glad I did not ditch this series after Heart of the Dragon. Grey and Jewell were funny, insecure, and possesive of one another. They were a cute couple that I'd definately like to read more about.

I had a really hard time reading the first half of this book. As a Anita Blake fan I'm starting to feel like Anita and Merry are merging into one person and I'm not sure that I like that. I really liked the murder investigation and am looking forward to finding out how things progress for Merry, her babies, and her men in the next book. I just hope that LKH doesn't spend chapters describing clothes and scenery because for me it's getting old and feels like she's just trying to fill out her book and make it longer.

The literal definition of My Bloody Valentine!

Dominic and Sophie are a great power couple. Both are workaholics, in their dream careers, striving to level up and be recognized. They compliment one another perfectly. They are fun and very down to earth, comfortable in their skin, feisty, family oriented, and have no issues with um.... body fluids LOL

This is my first read by this author however it seems there are a lot of interconnecting series within this book introducing other couples whose stories I'd like to now read.

This was a satisfying quick fun holiday read and I highly recommend.
