I was on the edge of my seat reading this. So many times I thought to myself that this shit is dark, fucked up, dirty, cringe worthy, and yet I couldn't stop. It was toxic nothing that anyone should ever want yet my heart still jumped and I wanted nothing but a HEA for Damon.
This was probably the most mind blowing, secret reveals in the series so far. It consumed me. If Shonda doesn't turn this shit into a dark series I'm going to riot .

First things first, if you have not discovered Penelope Douglas's website GO look it up NOW. There is soo much bonus content for this series. Pinterest story boards, spotify playlists, maps, family tree, and deleted scenes!!
Let me just say that this series overall is one of the BEST that I have ever read and it's only 6 books! Technically 4 books and 2 novellas but who cares. It takes you on an incredible emotional journey. It's dark, sexy, and dangerous. There are no boundaries and after reading it you will need to go smoke a cigarette and recollect yourself before rejoining the "real world".
There were absolutely NO flaws in this story. Will and Emory have a complicated past but it's more so because Emory had her own shit to deal with and I respect her for it. She's a survivor and has a survivor's mentality. Spoiler - A lot of her apprehension to be with Will is because of his possessive nature and need to claim her vs allowing her to grow and stand as an individual. But he needs to grow and stand on his own as well, he just doesn't realize it as quickly a she does.
I love the introduction of the new characters Aydin, Micah, and Rory. I love the evolution of the Horseman in general and the women they partner with. Damon overall is my favorite villain/hero and Kai/Banks are my overall favorite couple.
I HIGHLY RECOMMNED THIS SERIES & anything else written by Penelope Douglas.

This is a funny and quick read. Very light hearted, has a lot of emotional analyzing that I'm personally not a fan of but overall it was an enjoyable read.
I was not sure what to expect from this book as it's not really vibe. I knew it had a ton of positive reviews but it was a negative one that made me want to read this. A woman said she was MAD about the underlined topics of domestic abuse, rape, and grieve in this book. She said when she reaches for romance she wants it to be light hearted and sweet. Ummm All love is beautiful land real love is sugar coated so I took the plunge.
I am so glad that I did. This isn't a dark story by any means. I've read some fucked up toxic af romances and this one is the opposite. It was beautiful. It touched my heart and soul. I demand that Hollywood make this into a movie so I can watch it on repeat while I sort shit out in my headspace.
Does LaKeith Stanfield have a twin cause he would be a perfect Oliver. Just sayin... Also keep your spotify open while reading this cause adding the soundtrack will just make your heart beat faster.

I recently discovered Penelope Douglas and her Devil's Night series. It's fucked up and dark and it left me wanting for more. I had thought that this could do it. This book could compete. There were warnings. Warnings in the reviews, warnings by the author. Penelope never had dark and dangerous warnings. I was thrilled and felt a bit dirty digging in.
Sadly didn't compare. Is it fucked up?? Sure. But it's watered down. It doesn't have the darkness we were warned about. I've read more emotionally conflicting scenes in rom-coms. This book as the vibe of Cruel Intentions mixed with the Skulls.
I'm not mad at it. It has a lot of good plots. I'm going to finish the series, already pre-ordered the third. It just didn't hit the spot. However the "warning" on the next book claims it's more intense and fucked up, so we shall see.

Okay this series is NOT for the faint of heart. It's toxic, dark, fucked up. All these people need to intense counseling and prison time. But a bitch was loving it! This second book is sooo much more darker than the first. It's dirty, it will make you feel dirty. You will seriously question your own saity while reading this. I was in a damn trance. I stopped answering calls and messages and knocked this out in several hours. ONLY to find out the third book doesn't come out until fall.
It's cool though, I pre-ordered it and I'm ready for the action to pop off since. Predictions - someone is going to die, someone is going to almost die, and there will likely be a threesome.

Ian has always been one of my favorite characters so I was super excited to see he had an entire trilogy. I knew his HEA would be nothing less than complicated.
The first book was filled with action and humor. There is so much to love.

I only bought this to read the Meg and Hunter bonus. They had a baby!!!! It was a much needed fix and a solid read.
I hope that more books in the Night Huntress universe are in the works. I would love to learn more about the secondary characters but if not, this was a satisfactory ending.
The love that Ian and Veritas have literally makes me want to jump up and down and squeal like a 14 year old girl. If this is the final NH book I can say that it didn't disappoint. There was a lot of action, humor, and warm feels.

Hands down Veritas is my favorite heroine in the Night Huntress Universe. YES even more so than Cat. But not by much. Veritas is an emotional gangster. She is badass, fearless, and fiercely protective. I love the chemistry she and Ian have. Silver makes my heart flutter every time he's mentioned. I love the new monogamous side of Ian. He is so adorably proud to be married. This was such a good read.
