This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and it absolutely delivered! My heart broke for Charlotte from the start—her strained relationship with her mother hit close to home. By the end, I was so happy to see her find her own little found family.

I wasn’t sure about Brighton at first, but as more layers of her character were revealed, I completely understood her. This book brought so many feels—heartache, joy, and everything in between—but it also had so much fun and charm.

As always, Ashley Herring Blake’s side characters were fantastic and added so much depth to the story. This is a beautifully written, emotionally rich holiday read.

Having visited Hay-on-Wye this year, I couldn’t resist picking this up—it was such fun to picture the story unfolding in places I’d been. While I wanted to love it more than I did, it’s still a sweet, fluffy holiday read that left me with a smile.

The cosy charm of Hay was captured perfectly, and the lighthearted tone made it an easy, enjoyable escape.

Not much in terms of story but still a super cute read. 

I wasn’t expecting the political intrigue, but it totally worked! Coal and Hex had me hooked from the start, and I loved that Kris and Iris were rooting for them the whole way. Coal is exactly my kind of protagonist—bit of a jerk, but the good kind you can’t help but love.

While I was a little sad Kris and Iris didn’t end up together, it just makes me more excited for Kris’s book. He’s such a sweetheart, and I can’t wait to see his story unfold. This was a clever, fun, and surprisingly layered holiday read that I’ll definitely pick up again. 

This was an easy read, but it’s not very festive for a holiday novella. I loved Evie, but Luke didn’t win me over. The insta-love and possessiveness was a bit much for me, though there were a few sweet moments. 

This was the perfect grumpy/sunshine winter escape. Robin was such a relatable character with her family and relationship history. I loved the dynamic between her and Neve, and I appreciated that their connection wasn't instant. While the plot was completely predictable, it was exactly what I wanted - a heartwarming, cozy read with some holiday cheer.

This was definitely a middle-of-the-road read for me. The paranormal elements were intriguing and had a lot of potential, but as the story went on, it started to drag a bit. The pacing just didn’t keep me hooked the whole way through. The romance elements felt rushed and lacked something, and I wasn’t overly invested in any of the characters, which made it a bit difficult to fully enjoy. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. 

This was such a sweet, short story that managed to pack in so much of Marc and Jamie’s history without feeling rushed. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was obvious from the start how smitten they were with each other. Overall, a lovely little festive read.

I was looking forward to diving into this holiday novella after loving a couple of the others from the Home for the Holidays collection, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I don't know if my expectations were too high, or I missed something crucial by not having read the previous books in the series but the story felt rushed, the characters were flat, making it difficult to connect with their experiences, and the writing style didn't captivate me.

While I appreciate the effort put into this holiday novella, it simply wasn't the right fit for me.

The story follows two cousins who move to the city for a fresh start and unexpectedly end up with superpowers, fighting aliens. The artwork absolutely stunning and I loved the representation in the characters, but as much as I wanted to love this graphic novel, the story just didn’t come together for me. It felt scattered, and there wasn’t much development in the characters or the plot. The potential was there, but it didn’t quite deliver.
