After enjoying Our Wives Under the Sea, I was eager to pick up more from Julia Armfield. This collection of short stories delivers on the same eerie, unsettling atmosphere, reminiscent of Black Mirror. The stories themselves varied in quality for me. 'Mantis' was a particular standout, and 'The Great Awake' was absolutely captivating – I'd devour a full novel based on that premise in a heartbeat.

As a long-time WoW player, I decided to dive deeper into the lore, starting with Rise of the Horde. I loved Thrall's narration of how the orcs' came to be in Azeroth. He will forever be my Warchief. Excited to explore more of the Warcraft lore through these books!

This was another wholesome addition to The Sad Ghost Club series. This volume focuses on social anxiety, and the relatable characters will resonate with readers who have ever felt this way. I especially love the charming art style. It's a comforting and enjoyable read.

This was such a charming graphic novel! The artwork is absolutely stunning, with so much attention to detail and colour, and I loved how diverse the characters were. While the story itself didn’t have a huge amount going on, it worked well for the tone and allowed the characters to shine.

Bear’s journey of recognising and working on his anger issues was well done, and I especially loved the moments when he opened up to Brielle about his love for poetry and playing the cello. I look forward to seeing what’s next for these characters in future instalments.

This memoir is a raw and honest look at growing up Black and queer, exploring gender, race, sexuality, family, and belonging. George M. Johnson’s storytelling is both heartbreaking and beautiful, with deeply personal moments. It was definitely a thought-provoking read .
