I had goose bumps while reading Josie's story. Although some parts are predictable, there are plenty of unexpected twists and turns. This is the perfect spooky story for any middle grade kid who wants to be scared! I usually hate to finish a book, but this one left me satisfied. An extra bonus: The end is what I least expected to happen!

It took a while for me to get into this story. I loved Willow’s side of story, but I’d like to know some more of Polly’s. Once the story had me hooked, the characters had me laughing out loud (hard to do for me with a book!) and feeling their sadness. The whole book wrapped up beautifully!

A must read. This is going down as one of my favorite books!
Montag does an amazing job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the entire story. With every step of Myra's journey, we can feel her fear, love, determination, anger, etc. The visual storytelling makes it seem like you're right there. It's not often that a book is written with this much detail and heart.

Amazingly written and so very touching. I loved watching Marin live through her memories and struggles to find a meaning behind her feelings, the same way any real person would do - she’s not just a character in a book! Marin and her gang of supportive characters feel like your own friens and family by the end of the story. However, I would have liked to read what happens next!
Dr. Manning's story touched my heart in so many ways. Her strength, perseverance, and love are extraordinary. Thank you for sharing your incredible story of loss, recovery, and eventual closure.
This is an amazing work of art that so wonderfully captures the struggles of those living within these cultures.
I cannot wait to discuss this book with my friends and students.
