This book was much more fun to read than most of the others I've had to read for one of my classes. Faustus is an idiot, Mephistophilis is a bamf, and the comedy scenes are perfection. This play would be so awesome to see live.

This is a fantastic story. I think I need to read through it again to fully get it. Right now, all my mind is saying is, "Holy crap. What? What just happened? WHAT?" Oh, and I had a few sleepless nights imagining little Miles standing at the foot of my bed, staring creepily at me as he does on the cover.

Aside from that, and the doom of a large essay I have to write about it hanging over my head, I just ate this up. I love the narration, getting inside the crazy governess's thoughts. There are so many different and fascinating ways to read into this story: is the governess insane? Jealous? A pedophile? All of the above? Who knows. She tells a damn good story, that's for sure.

Oh, Oedipus. I've heard so much about him in psychology classes, but it was always vague. I officially love this story. The drama of it is fantastic. Insert more positive adjectives here.
