We are living in dystopian science fiction.
Meichi Ng draws perfect, #relatable scenes as a young adult trying to figure out how this whole life thing works. Barely Functional Adult is a series of stories covering heartbreak, therapy, and everything in between, illustrated with cartoons in her signature style. It’ll make you laugh and sigh and feel so seen.

A super short, bright, and colorful intro to being a witch!
Another Day in Paradise is a lovely comic about Megan Kirby’s extremely chaotic and isolating pandemic experience—complete with a busted ankle and bed bugs. It is simultaneously sad and idyllic, covering the mundanity and tiny joys of quarantine.
Truly, truly incredible. The Loneliness Files blends stories from the news—a woman who died in front of her TV and wasn’t found for three years, a young woman who disappears in the Cecil Hotel—and Dixon’s own tales of isolation, both before and especially during COVID. She reminisces about family and home and what those concepts even mean. And what is the internet doing to us? This was such a gut punch of a book and I couldn’t put it down.
