Save the Date meets Never Have I Ever in this story about a high school senior who is about to get a Bollywood spin on her life when her sister gets engaged and she has to navigate family drama, friend drama, and an unexpected crush. Arya is thrown headfirst into wedding planning when her sister becomes engaged, but that isn't without it's own drama as with new family members, mounting fights, and more come to a head. On top of that her senior is starting, and after losing the presidency she is now vice president to her frustrating yet handsome school rival, Dean. The more time Arya and Dean spend together the more their rivalry is starting to turn into something else, and with so much going on in her life, she'll have to find a way to balance everything before it explodes in her place. This was an okay read, you get to see a lot of family drama , especially between mother and daughters and sister and sister. Arya is dealing with so much, and she's trying to find a way to navigate it all on top of dealing with her best friend's breaking up and trying to remain friends with both as well as this new relationship with Dean. This would make a cute read for teens I think.

The bittersweet and gorgeous finale to the fantastic duology featuring a songstress and the boy she loves who must find a way to defeat the Demon Gods while holding onto their souls... but with great magic comes a price and they might have to pay the ultimate price. Picking up where the first book left off, Lan has inherited the power of the Silver Dragon and has made a new deal with the demon. She is determined to eliminate the Demon Gods forever in order to save her kingdom, but in order to do that she must obtain the only magical weapon that can kill the Demon Gods, the Godslayer. She is also still reeling from the murder of her newly discovered father by the boy she loved who also betrayed her, Zen. Zen has sold his soul to gain the powers to eliminate the conquerors who killed his family and stole his kingdom. Zen bound himself to the Demon God, the Black Tortoise... yet the more he uses it's powers the more it gains control of his body and soul.... yet there is one thing that Zen still yearns for, to be with the girl he loves, Lan. With two Demon Gods still on the loose and the enemy Elantian invaders trying to hunt down the same Demon Gods to bind, both Zen and Lan will have to face the betrayal that happened between them as well as the love that still remains. Can they find a way to work together to save those they love as well as repair the damage down between each other? Or will their bonds to their Demon Gods destroy them? This was such a fantastic and beautiful end to the series. I was devastated for them but I loved the journey and the story captivated me until the end. I loved the mythology and the world that was created and the romance between Lan and Zen ramped up in this book. I had a blast with this overall series and would highly recommend it!

A new viscount who has secrets he's trying to keep finds himself facing off against his past school boy crush and the very man who gets under his skin, a handsome and open man who was asked to babysit him. James Demeroven has just inherited the title of Viscount from his father, despite suffering from anxiety, a terrible ex who is keen to blackmail him, an abusive step father, and meeting his only other family members he never knew he had, James is having a bit of a time. James is meant to be spending time with his aunt and his cousin, two people. who's home he essentially took and who had been cut out from the family but now that he's inherited the title he wants to get to know them and that means spending time with them... and spending time with Bobby Mason. Bobby Mason is the second son, he's always second best and feels like he doesn't contribute anything, so when his uncle asks him to babysit and help the newcomer in their circle to make connections and fit in with the society, he reluctantly says yes.. but every attempt to be friendly ends up in coldness as James just can't seem to convey his words or thoughts well. Bobby wants to be friends but James is intent on arguing. Bobby and James can't stand one another and yet when Jame's ex threatens to blackmail their family and extort money, both of them will have to work together to stop him and protect their families before it's too late. This is the sequel to the first book, but unfortunately this one just wasn't as good as the first one. I loved Gwen and Beth, but Bobby and James just did not work for me. They didn't feel like they had any chemistry and I just wasn't all that invested in their relationship after everything. I really enjoyed the first book but this one just didn't work for me. I really wished it did, but I just did not have as much fun with this one as I did with the first book. If you are looking for a opposites attracts/ dislike to lovers, give this a go maybe it'll work out better for you than it did for me.

When a teenage artist gets sucked into her own web comic she finds herself falling for a boy who strangely reminds her of someone she used to know and fighting against her own protagonist who has turned evil. Inspired by the A-ha's "Take on Me" music video, the story follows Mina Lee, a teenager who dreams about going to art school and pursuing art just like her mother before she passed away. She begins working on a web comic... only to suddenly wake up inside of it! Mina does not expect to be here at all or to be falling for the main love interest she wrote.. except he is based off her own childhood best friend who passed away... and now he's here again and she can be with him.... the only problem is that her protagonist has turned evil and will destroy anyone who gets close to him, did I also forget to mention in this world people are gifted with powers. Mina is trapped in the story she created and has to save everyone, but the real question is, will she go back to her own world if it means losing Jin forever? This was a really fun read and I enjoyed it! It's a unique story and the romance was cute. It's definitely a book I'd rec for anyone who enjoys fun adventurous romances!

A writer who has severe writer's block and a loom deadline finds inspiration in a gorgeous coffee shop owner... the only problem is that she is falling in love with her and hasn't told her she's used her in her book. Mack has to write a book, yet she's got nothing and the deadline for her next book is getting closer and closer. She escapes from New York to go to Seattle and visit her parents, yet while she's there she visits a cute coffee shop and meets the equally gorgeous coffee shop owner, Charlie. Charlie owns a coffee shop but she's been hiding a secret, the shop's nearly bankrupt and she doesn't know how to save it. Charlie and Mack keep fall for each other yet they are complete opposites. Charlie is an optimist and tends to fall fast while Mack is worrier who doesn't do relationships. However the more time they spend together the more the attraction between them grows... but Mack still has not told Charlie the truth about her book and when she finds out.... will they be able to make it work? This was a cute sapphic romance and I loved the sweet relationship between Charlie and Mack. They are both dealing with their own things yet were super supportive and sweet to each other. The overall story was a sweet one and I enjoyed the romance. I definitely think if you're looking for a quick and sweet romance read, this one would be perfect for you!

A gorgeous and emotional journey of a witch who explores her emotions in a struggle of self-acceptance, work place drama, and new experiences. Joana is a young witch who has secured her dream job with a coven in London. She's starting a new job in a new city and has to learn to adapt to a whole new environment and making new friends. Yet the reality of a new job is vastly different from the dream she built, now she's dealing with a difficult job environment, stressful and lonely thoughts as she struggles with a hard roommate, relationship drama, and her own feelings spiraling. She feels like everything is falling apart... until she begins talking to a professional who helps her realize that in order to take care of herself she has to learn more about herself and self love. This was a really sweet read and I enjoyed the journey we went on with Joana as she learned to stand up for her work, to love herself, and to open herself up.

Two sisters, trapped in the fae world, unlikely romances, court politics, and defying destinies. Yeeran is a warrior in the elvan army and has known bloodshed and violence all her life. Lettle is her sisteer, a diviner who wants nothing more than to find a better future within the prophecies. Yet when a mistake from one of Lettle's prophecies leads to Yeeran's exile from the Elan lands they both end up entering into the most impossible place... the fae court. The faes had not been seen for millenniums and now both Yeeran and Lettle are both trapped in their, along with Yeeran's general Rayan who went with Lettle to search for Yeeran when she was exiled. Once all three of them had made it into the fae court, they are told they are no longer allowed to leave. Yeeran will have to test into the fae guards in exchange for Lettle and Rayan to be allowed to live a peaceful life in the fae court... despite the faes being prejudiced and hating the all elves. Yeeran is caught up in the elf court politics, with the elf princess Furi who also is a warrior...meanwhile Lettle is learning how to read prophecies.. except her own prophecy states that she will kill her beloved... who just happens to be Rayan. The closer they get the harder it becomes for Lettle to push him away. Meanwhile something is going on, someone is vying for the throne and Lettle discovers a prophecy that states two elves will be killed.... but when they discover which two elves.. it might be too late for them. This is the first book in a trilogy and it definitely was an interesting read, the pacing is a bit slow and it does feel at times like you are getting info dumped, however the overall journey of the plot was interesting and I am interested in where the next book goes. The romances in the book were good in some aspects, not so much in other. I did enjoy the romance between Lettle and Rayan but couldn't believe the romance between Yeeran and Furi. Then there was the mystery and the way that wrapped up, and it kind of was an obvious one and didn't really feel carefully laid out or surprisingly really. I was interested in the world of the Fae court and how Yeeran and co had to integrate and navigate it but for some moments it just didn't really expand on it all that well. Overall, it's a fun start to a fantasy series and if you enjoy court politics, a bit of romance with prophecies, then give this a go.
*Spoiler: Yeeran and Furi get together, Lettle and Rayan get together, Furi's younger brother poisoned his mothers to give Furi the throne (without her knowing). Rayan turns out to be the long lost son and chosen king (he's essentially Furi's cousin) and is chosen as king. Lettle is the diviner's prophesized apprentice and begins learning how to divine. Yeeran can talk to Pila, her animal familiar essentially.

A young girl who will do anything to become an apprentice to immortals to escape her life finds herself awakening powers she never knew she had. Yeung Zhi Ging is a 12 year old orphan girl who yearns to become a Silhouette, someone who is an apprentice to the immortals. Despite losing and not impressing the scout, she is determined to find a way to get a spot... even if it means facing a dragon attack. All her life she has been different and she wants nothing more than to fit in. When she is given a second chance to become an apprentice she must undergo extensive trials to prove she has what it takes. Yet the longer she stays in the trials the stronger her powers become... and the more questions of who she is begins to be asked. This started off as a really interesting read but then got a bit messy and dragged on by the end. This is the first book in the series but I don't think I will be continuing on with the rest of the books. It's not a bad series for middle grade readers, in fact, I would recommend it. However I just felt that it could be better, this is very much a "magical school" kind of novel with a "not like other kids" protagonist. I was hoping the trials/journey for Zhi would be more interesting but it just kind of all blended together and there weren't any stand out moments. I did enjoy that this series added a touch of chinese mythology to it though. Overall, this is a good series for young readers who enjoy magical school-esque stories.
