Four fairytale stories, romance, betrayal, magic, and heartbreak. This is the first volume and features four distinct stories.
1) Pins and Needles: Enemies to lovers.. to enemies maybe? This is a story about two people who hate each other... but with hatred that could be more. The story involves a voodoo doll and the power play of control, of possessing someone. This was such a good start to the volume. 5/5 ( Would love a longer version of this story, second favorite of the series)
2) The Animation Games: Two people who are betrothed to each other but their deaths are only the beginning of their fates. They are intertwined, forever killing and haunting each other... making a game of who kills the other and who is leading... but maybe their curse is something more and maybe after all their games are played, maybe they are soulmates. This was my all time favorite of the stories. FANTASTIC (5/5)
3) Fates and Consequences: Someone is killed by the fates much earlier than they were intended but finds themself in the sensual power play between Hades and Persephone ( sadly this was my least favorite of the stories) (3/5)
4) Sensual Tales for Carnal Pleasures: Be careful of the beautiful man, be careful of his temptation. This is a story about a girl who was warned by her mother all her life to be weary of a beautiful man who will lure her but when the time comes things are not as they seem and a larger game is at play. ( 4/5)

A childhood friend turned k-pop star has returned home and now seventeen-year old Lulu Li is about to get an unexpected summer. Her childhood friend turned famous Kpop star is returning home. It’s been years since they spoke and drifted apart but now he’s back and her summer is about to get interesting. Lulu and Kite haven’t seen each other since eighth grade and now she’s graduating highschool. Lulu and Kai ( stage named Kite) have to restart their friendship and reconnect, finding who they are now with who they were and if the friendship between them is still there.. and if there is a chance for more. On top of that there is drama with Lulu’s father who cheated on her mother and with Kai’s sudden return being more than just simply a medical leave and the drama and chaos of k-pop fans. This is the second k-pop romance book I’ve read this month and while it was sweet and cute there were some parts I found a bit meh, the first one being that Lulu called her childhood friend whom she’s known by his stage name. making it seem like she still idolizes him as an idol rather than calling him by his regular name... like an actual person and as someone who’s known him, the second was the ending and resolution of this book, it felt lacking and so open ended, it felt like there should have been another epilogue or a bonus chapter with more resolution to their relationship and to what was going to happen in their future. Overall it was a sweet read and the friendship to lovers trope was cute in this. Lulu and Kai made an adorable couple and had sweet and caring moments with each other.

The second volume of anthology fairytales from Olivie Blake. Another great selection of stories to read and I would definitely recommend it!
The Wish Bridge: A girl given the job of granting people’s wishes finally meets someone who doesn’t want something from her... but rather to grant her a wish. A sweet and romantic story (5/5)
Avalon: What it means to discover hope in humanity, various different attempts and the madness of it all ( 2/5).
The Twelve Huntsmen: A prince and a princess who are in love with each other but the prince is betrothed to another and has to kill a lion to claim his throne... except there is more going on here and maybe the prince isn’t much of a prince and the lion isn’t much of a villain but more of a cursed king and the princess isn’t just sone damsel in love but a warrior, a huntress. (5/5)
How to Dispel Friends and Curse People: Told in prose, a poet and the girl he’s in love with. (4/5)
Sucker for Pain: Pain, love, monsters, and debts. Twisted (2/5)

A drowned girl, a lake, and one jog that is going to change another girl’s life. Kayla loves jogging, she always goes on them and can’t keep away from her routine of jogging. But after a girl is found drowned in the lack where Kayla’s jogging trail is... she still can’t keep away. So when she decides to go on a jog something or someone is after her, she can feel herself being stirred off the track, the flags she follows being moved different and the feeling of someone following her intensifying. Soon she’ll be running for her life. The twist was meh unfortunately for me.
Best friends since forever except Caleb has always been in love with Evie, in fact he has a list of all their almost kisses, and when Evie is suddenly open to falling in love... its just not with him. Evie has never been interested in dating, she’s always been preoccupied with her love of mathematics and dealing with her anxiety. But when Caleb’s friend Leo shows interest in Evie and Evie reciprocates, Caleb’s world is about to go up in flames. Caleb has loved Evie and the one time he tried to make the next move she tells him “ no absolutely not, especially not with you” and that has haunted him, he’s been waiting for her to be ready for him to try again but when she is ready it’s not about him it’s about his friend. Now Caleb has to figure out if he can handle watching the girl he’s in love with fall in love with someone else or if he can finally let go. He chose option 3, create a new identity and essentially catfish Evie online. Evie on the other hand is now in love with three people, her boyfriend Leo, her friend Caleb, and her online friend Milo and she can’t pick. If I’m going to be honest Evie and Caleb irritated me, I just wanted to scream at Caleb to move on because honestly. catfishing a girl is not the way to go and Evie, please do not treat your boyfriend like that. Honestly these two were made for each other I just feel bad for everyone they hurt or dated while trying to figure out that they were meant for each other.
A new inheritance, an alchemist, a vampire, and the complicated history between them all. When Marisa Marrero discovers her estranged grandmother left her a home in New Orleans after her death she thinks its the perfect chance for her to get a new start. Little does she know she’s going to be in far over her head. There she discovers she is given the role of Caretaker, a person in charge of offering her home as a hostel to creatures, yes creatures. She then finds herself in a twisted game of tug a war between two ex lovers, Jack st. Germaine an alchemist and Elisabeth Clavier a vampire. Jack and Elisabeth have a long and complicated history, starting with love to betrayal to now rivals and enemies and they both want Marisa for their own ends. Now she will have to figure out who she can trust and who she wants between Jack and Elisabeth and if she is truly meant for this new role. Unfortunately for me this one was a miss, I truly did not like Jack at all. In fact, I would have rather Elisabeth and Marisa gotten together but alas we can’t have it all. I liked Elisabeth, I liked how after everything she endured she survived, she lived and only to find the lover who promised her that he would search for her, that he would love her and wait for her has bathed himself in luxury, women, and power... I’d be angry too. Overall it was okay, but it wasn’t the best work that this author has done.
Two girls, a forbidden romance, vigilante work, and a murder mystery to solve. Eustaquia “Kiki” de Sonza is a future baroness, daughter of a wealthy baron and best friend of Ana Leama de Urinza, poor girl turned vigilante. Both of them find joy in in a good fight, in swords, and in falling in love with each other. Things take a turn when it is announced that Kiki is to be betrothed to someone to do her duty to her family and to expand their power. But when her brother is murdered and made to look like a suicide and more girls are being killed and left with a symbol carved into them, Kiki and Ana will have to risk their lives and their hearts if they want to stop the killer and win their freedom. Kiki is struggling between wanting to do what she is expected to do for her family and following her heart and being with Ana, but when her brother dies her life is consumed in revenge and finding out who did this. Ana’s friend is kidnapped and she might be the key to solving this entire mystery and Ana and Kiki will have to follow the clues and navigate dangerous people with darker secrets filled with greed and lust if they want to be able to stop the killer. This was such a fun read and I adore Ana so much. I loved the action and the mystery and the romance, ugh the romance was so good. Two people from different stations in life, in a forbidden romance, but who love and cherish each other, who support and want the best for the other? Amazing, Beautiful, perfection!

After saving countless Sleeping Beauties its time for Zinnia Gray to fall into a new story and just maybe finally find her own happy ending. Zinnia is tired of the same stories, of saving and helping the sleeping beauties all get their happily ever afters, she just wants something else. When trying to escape she finds herself pulled into a new story, the story of Sleeping Beauty except the person who pulled her in is the Evil Queen aka Eva. Eva wants to escape her fate, she’s fated to die every single time and she just wants it to end. Eva wants to find a way to escape her story and finally be freed, and the only person with the answer is Zinnia. But soon Zinnia and Eva find themselves falling into different Snow White stories and not all Snow Whites are kind an good and maybe Eva isn’t as evil as Zinnia believes. Zinnia and Eva will have to work together to navigate these new territories, and along the way find that they aren’t as different as they think and that they actually do understand one another... and maybe even fall in love with each other. I absolutely adored this continuation of the story, in fact I loved it even more than the first book. Eva and Zinnia are everything and I NEED A THIRD BOOK OF THEM PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE. I AM DESPERATE FOR MORE. Eva and Zinnia are two people trapped and constantly trying to outrun their fates, they want to survive, they want to find a way to just be happy outside of their designated fairytale story. I just adored this book.

Charlie Hall is a thief, a con artist, and a girl who loves trouble. In a world where there are magicians who can manipulate shadows to kill people, control people, and do so much worse, things are about to get interesting. Charlie has spent half her life working for gloamists (magicians who control these shadows) and after some big past mistakes she just wants to lie low, take easy jobs, and get out of the business. But getting out isn’t easy when you’ve got a reputation. Charlie has secrets, but shes about to discover that her boyfriend Vincent has even more. When a job gets out of hand and she soon discovers that her shadowless (possibly soulless) boyfriend has more secrets than she could ever imagine everything is about to go from bad to worse for her because Charlie Hall cannot escape trouble. Soon she will find herself descending into a maze of secrets, murder, money, magic, and power and will have to figure out what she truly wants. I have no words to describe how absolutely brilliant this book was, I loved it. I IMMEDIATELY NEED THE SEQUEL. The story fluctuates between Charlie’s childhood, the events leading up to how she got to where she is today, the present, and Vincent and his past. Charlie was raised to be a con artist, she has a talent for it, she keeps her life separated in secrets, her jobs, her nice home life with a quiet and handsome boyfriend who cleans up dead bodies. But when you keep secrets things are bound to unravel, and when it does unravel Charlie starts to realize that she wasn’t the only one keeping secrets in this relationship. Vincent is all masks, he is secrets, he is a calm face hiding something more, and he is connected to Charlie in ways she never knew. This was a story about romance, about surviving, about making bad decisions, and about loving someone for who they are despite everything else. I loved Charlie and I loved Vince, I loved the magic and the mayhem that was this book and I absolutely can’t wait to see where the story continues after that ending!!
