Another wonderful and touching collection of poems from Amanda Lovelace. I’ve always loved reading the series and this final book in her mythical women poetry book series was a wonderful way to end the series. The poems weave emotion and relatability in them and it just was a great collection. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who has loved her previous work!
Enemies to lovers, Maleficent (also called Malone) and Aurora... a new twist on the Sleeping Beauty duo. Aurora has been planning and plotting for years to get her revenge on Malone for putting her mother in a coma. When she has to finally take her mother off life support, she is suddenly offered a contract from Malone to stay with her for two weeks... and finally Aurora see’s her chance to get revenge. Malone has been in love with Aurora ever since she first met her and has been holding back for years, but finally decides to try and get it out of her system by having her stay with her for two weeks to work it out. But soon both of them find themselves in for more than they had bargained for and find themselves discovering new aspects about the other that they had not before. This was the sixth book in the series and features various other characters from the Wicked Villain series ( I am currently reading them out of order but it was completely fine and not hard to follow at all). I enjoyed the dynamic between the two characters and you can see them falling for each other despite their history. It had a sweet ending and I would definitely recommend it!
A watch that is claimed to have the ability to bring back the dead, a girl who can bring back the dead for only an hour, a watchmaker’s son who can deal with memories, and a mysterious boy who came back to life. These three will be brought together on a journey to find the mysterious watch but when bodies start dropping soon the trio but must solve the mystery before they are next. This was a cute and cozy little read, it was like an episode of a gothic mystery show with very very light romance, I found it a quick read and was an enjoyable one. The world was unique and the mystery hunt for the watch was a fun one to read about! If you are looking for a short victorian mystery than this is right up your alley!
A new spin on the dynamic between Peter Pan, Hook, and Tink. Tink has been living in fear after finally escaping an abusive relationship with Peter Pan... but her protection has run out and now she has to face Peter again. Peter will kill her, and thats not even the worst that would happen to her if she meets him again. Salvation comes in the form of Hook... who offers Tink a deal: marry him and he’ll kill Peter for her. Yet Tink despises Hook almost as much as Peter... yet he’s the lesser of the two devils. Hook, despite everything, is very much in love with Tink, but he also needs her as bait to trap Peter. Now Tink and Hook must re-evaluate their relationship and Hook has to find a way to convince Tink that he is just what she needs, that he understands her and can take care of her, all the while Peter is still waiting to snatch her up again. I read this as a stand-alone despite it being part of the Wicked Villains series by Katee Roberts (yes characters from all the other books are also in here and while it would be better to read them all in order it was a fine reading experience reading this as a stand alone).
A new take on the classic Red Riding Hood tale, it was oddly reminiscent of the Amanda Seyfried 2011 movie. In a town surrounded by monsters in the woods, sixteen year old Adele discovers her family secret... in that they can turn into wolves and are tasked with secretly protecting the village from the evil whitewolves and other monsters lurking in the woods. Now that she has awoken her wolf gene her grandmother and mother both reveal her new duties and that she must keep it a secret from the village, else she be burned at the stake like her father... and that she is betrothed despite her being in love with her childhood friend who is a watcher, or guard of the village. Now she is torn between her old love and the mysterious handsome new fiancee who has come to town to court Adele and help her. Adele finds herself pulled between every direction, between her new duties and her old life. With new threats lurking, Adele must begin to make the hard choices and accept her duties as a guardian. She must face difficult choices and come to terms with her future. I absolutely adored Max, Adele’s new betrothed. He was so sweet, understanding, supportive, artistic, and he saw her. He saw her, and he understood her, and he went above and beyond to help her transition into her new role while just being a gentle and supportive partner. This movie definitely had Red Riding Hood (2011) vibes and I love that movie, it just works for me, so this book was a nice new version of that and I definitely enjoyed it!
Three girls who went missing as children only to reappear one month later...completely changed. New teeth, hair turned to platinum blonde, and eyes turned black. These are the Hollow sisters. Grey (oldest), Vivi (middle), and Iris (youngest) have been surrounded by strange events ever since they’re return. People are attracted to them... to a near obsessive and dangerous degree, they can get people to do whatever they want with a touch or a kiss. They can bend people’s wills and have kept their powers a secret. Yet the three sisters all claim to not remember what happened during that time period when they had disappeared. Grey moved out when she was 17 and became a supermodel turned fashion designer. Vivi moved out soon after and became a rockstar, constantly traveling to new places, collecting new languages and lovers. Finally there is Iris, the youngest who is still in school and has been keeping an extreme low profile. She rarely ever uses her gifts and just wants to live a normal life. However when Vivi comes back into town and the three are suppose to meet, Grey goes missing. Now Vivi and Iris, along with Grey’s boyfriend Taylor (a fellow model) all must unravel the clues she left behind. Not to mention that there is a man following them wearing a skull. Things start to get strange when the three find a corpse with runes carved in his body in Grey’s apartment, and they soon discover that Grey has many more secrets than they had realized. Along with trying to find their missing sister, Iris also starts to question the events of the past and her identity... who is she? why can’t she remember? why is the scent of decaying flowers haunting her? and why is the crescent moon scar she shares with her sister starting to irritate... and have something grow within it. This was a wonderful mystery story filled with interesting bits of nature/body gore and a fantastic take on the changeling lore! I had a blast reading it and as a bonus from the author’s insta she has fan-casted Anya Taylor Joy as our resident Grey Hollow. If you’re looking for a magical story filled with mystery, a little bit of horror, and magic, then this is just for you!
A beautiful collection of poetry that explores loneliness, anxiety, and longing, while finding peace and joy in unexpected places. This was a touching collection of poems and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I would highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys poetry and exploring emotions in poems.

A super cute and fun heartfelt story about one girl’s schemes of throwing her own bat mitzvah leading to the reveal of family secrets, creating rivalries with best friends, and her journey to understanding what it really means to be Jewish. Written in a mixture of prose, poetry, and recipes this was such a fun read! The structure of the story was unique and I definitely will have to try out these recipes! I really had fun reading this and would recommend it for anyone who enjoys a fun read and cooking!

Summer Camp? What could go wrong? Kaitlin is a social pariah at her high school. She’s shy and has no friends, kids bully her and she just can’t seem to fit in. Her parents surprise her by sending her off to summer camp at Camp Overlook in hopes that she will make friends. Soon Kaitlin finds herself at this strange new place filled with girls who either want to be her friends or just want to avoid her and boys who have suddenly taken an interest in her. Besides all the drama that comes with summer camp something strange is happening, all the counselors have grey eyes, there are 24 hour video surveillance, and campers have been getting sick and disappearing. Soon Kaitlin finds herself succumbing to the same symptoms and her fellow bunkmates going missing, soon Kaitlin starts to investigate all while navigating new boy drama and friend drama. Soon she will uncover darker secrets about the camp as well as her own family secrets. This story follows a newly turned 15 year old girl and honestly, it definitely feels like it. Kaitlin is dealing with insecurities, shyness, and feelings all while trying to solve a mystery about her summer camp. It reads really juvenile and the whole mystery felt kinda like a CW show vibe. The resolution to the entire story was okay but honestly it just didn’t work for me.
Ash Persuad has been waiting to find “the one” and after a field trip she meets Poppy Morgan. Poppy is sweet, fun, and instantly takes a liking to Ash. Soon the girls find themselves falling for each other and going on cute dates and thinking about taking the next step in their relationship...however life is never so simple. On her way home from a New Year’s sneak out to meet Poppy, Ash is suddenly hit by a car... and wakes up and is greeted by strange girls who tell her that since she was the last soul to die on New’s Year’s Eve... she is now tasked with being a grim reaper just like them. Ash must now navigate her new duties while trying to accept what has happened to her, to her family, to Poppy, and what lies awaiting for her in the future. But Ash can’t seem to forget Poppy and finds herself seeking her out, even though she was warned not too. Soon the girls will find that even death can’t separate them. This was a sweet romance about falling in love and what happens when things don’t go the way you want. Ash and Poppy were sweet and cute together, they truly loved one another and reading their relationship progressing from cute coffee dates to museum visits to discussing family and coming out just was such a great read. I loved the aspect of grim reapers and the paranormal turn of the story. It really was a unique romantic read and the ending leaves it open for you in such a nice way. Definitely read this if you are looking for a sweet romance with a dash of paranormal.
