Beauty and the Beast mixed with historical events and exploring the question of what happens after “happily ever after?” The story follows Belle and her Beast as they are now happily married and curse free, and must integrate into political court. The story takes place during the french revolution where the people are fighting back against the rich and even has, you guessed it, Marie Antionette. The story is mainly focuses on Belle refusing to be a “princess” or a “queen” and essentially going on about how she refuses to change herself or take on the role and responsibilities.... even though she literally married into it and constantly goes on and on about how she wants to represent the people and fight for equality. See, I was struggling to get through this book because I was just so frustrated with Belle. She doesn’t act like the Belle you think she would be, she ignores a lot of red flags, and is so stubborn and set... I just did not enjoy it. The story drags for a bit and doesn’t really pick up till the last quarter of the book. I just couldn’t fathom Belle’s reasoning and the way she was acting, she was constantly saying how much she loved her husband and how she wouldn’t change a thing but then she wouldn’t really do anything to support him as he was dealing with political decisions, she wouldn’t talk to him about important conversations, and the thing that kept being brought up that truly got on my nerves was the “we never talk about the curse or how you kept me prisoner for a while” ... that is not a healthy relationship at all. They avoided difficult things, they didn’t really compromise in their relationship, and just... I really wished I had liked this book. It had so much potential, and the cover is gorgeous. I was all on board for an empowering reimagining of Beauty and the Beast mixed in with 1798 French politics.

A absolutely hauntingly heartwarming and touching story. I was so touched by this story and I can’t get over how wonderful it is. Technically a sequel, but can be read as a standalone, Delicates follows Tessi as she is navigating trying to fit into a new friend group and dealing with all the struggles of being a teen. Tessi wants to fit in but her new friends make it hard for her to feel comfortable, all the while there is a new girl in class who is sparking up attention, especially with her determination to capture a ghost on camera. Tessi is juggling both her ghost friends and trying to fit in with kids her own age. The story deals with the difficulties of trying to fit in, bullying, and even mental illness. Everything was so wonderfully handled and truly understandable and relatable. I highly recommend this book and this series!!

First off, let me start by saying you can read this as a standalone! The story is very sweet and definitely had my favorite trope, aka, ENEMIES TO LOVERS YALL ( though the enemies thing is one sided, BUT it still counts). I really liked how Gideon and Messalina both were discovering each other and falling in love with each other. They both had to deal with difficult situations and trust was not easy but they worked on it. There were so many twists and turns and obstacles in their relationship but it ends up well. The story wraps up well, and can I just say the bonus story gets 1000000 stars from me !! I loved the extra novella and wouldn’t mind a whole book for it!

An action packed story filled with amazing artwork and a girl hell bent on revenge and killing witches. I absolutely had a blast reading this! The story is compelling and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the plot. The magic is awesome and it just.. ITS A MUST READ!!!

This is an absolutely sweet and hilarious comic about a boy who is constantly jinxed and his very strong and cute girlfriend. Izumi is constantly in danger but luckily for him his girlfriend Shikimori is always there to protect him. Follow the hilarious and very endearing story about two high school sweet hearts and their adventures, and mostly Izumi saying how cute his girlfriend is. Seriously, this is such a fun story and the romance is sweet. Its so fun to see the relationship roles reversed with Shikimori being the stronger counterpart in the relationship while Izumi is the more soft one.

A historical romance with a mystery! The story follows new constable Jackson and feisty swindler Kit, who collide into each other and so begins their journey. Jackson is on the case and looking for a missing cabby and Kit joins along. The romance is a bit slow but its the building of it that is is fun. They bond over their case and by solving the mystery together they just might solve the mystery of each other. Great story and a lovely ending!

A wonderful and fun look inside the world of one of my favorite directors, Wes Anderson. This is the perfect book for anyone who has always wondered about Wes Anderson and how he comes about his films. It features a deeper insight into all of his films and his process. It was a delightful read and I loved learning more about my favorite films made by him!
