A sweet and charming story based on a real life artist! I absolutely loved the charming way it brought the life of Louise Bourgeois to life. The story was very sweet and the artwork was amazing! I think this would be a great story for kids to learn about an amazing artist who never gave up her dream.

A absolutely fantastic and magical story! The plot is about a cleric who becomes stranded in a mountain by three tigers who will allow them to live until they finish recounting a history they wish to correct. The magical element of the story is amazing and I was absolutely engrossed in the history that the cleric was recounting. A beautiful and almost lyrical element to the story. I was so engrossed and I would honestly recommend this for anyone who enjoys folktales, fairytales, and anything magical. The storytelling was magnificent and I just can’t get over this book!

A wrongly accused woman, a serial killer con artist, and the strange alaskan town. The story revolves around a woman who is currently living under a different identity as she is presumed dead and falsely accused for a double murder she did not commit. Now she is biding her time and waiting to find the con man and killer who destroyed her life, and when she does, things are not as it seem. The clock is ticking before he prepares to disappear again and she finds her family at risk. All the while, the husband of the mother and child who were killed, is trying to hunt her down as he keeps receiving anonymous information saying that she killed his family and she is still alive. Time is running out and the hunter is being hunted. I found the story to be quite interesting and was hooked until the end. There was a romance story intwined and I was not expecting it at all but I didn’t mind it so much. I was moreso invested in the cat and mouse game between the killer and the protagonist. The story jumps from various peoples’ povs and that was a nice touch to the story. The story wraps up nicely and I liked the overall ending.

A sapphic retelling of sleeping beauty where the princess falls in love with the evil sorceress? SIGN ME THE HELL UP. The moment I read the premise I was so so excited to read this book. I was lucky enough to snag an arc and I was not disappointed. This was such a great and really fun retelling. The story revolves around Alyce, a Dark Grace, graces being half fae who can bestow gifts such as beauty, wisdom, or in Alyce’s case.... darker gifts. Alyce is half Vil, and the last of her kind, making her the most hated and feared amongst the Graces. However, one day she meets Princess Aurora... and they both find that they are both prisoners in their cages and find solace in each other. The romance was great and I was rotting for Alyce the entire time. Everybody just takes from her and treats her like absolute garbage and when she finally finds out the true extent of her gifts and what it truly means to be part Vila, I was so amped. The story was great and honestly I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves an interesting romance fantasy book or a fairytale retelling with a twist. The ending had me begging for more and I would honestly love a sequel to see where Alyce goes and what happens with Aurora... seriously please give me more Heater Walter.

A unlucky girl named Lucky, an ex who is a chocolate billionaire, a fake wedding, and three fairy godmothers? What romance shenanigans await. This was an overall cute and quick romance read. I thought the magical fairytale element was a fun touch to the story and an interesting take to have fairy godmothers, This is a story about learning to love someone for who they are and learning to be okay with herself even if you're unlucky. It's a story about second chance romance and communication between two people. The major issue between the couple is their lack of communication and misunderstanding and it was a nice issue to look at even in terms of fake weddings and godmother fairies. The story was overall a okay read, definitely give it a go if you like romance and cheesy fun reads.

A beautiful graphic novel. I absolutely loved it. It had humor, real life questions, was very relatable, and an overall joy to read. The story follows Nick, a young illustrator, who can’t shake the feeling that there is some hidden realm of interaction beyond his reach ( and I mean we all have had this feeling). He floats from place to place trying to just connect with someone or some feeling. He has very interesting and sometimes funny interactions with his neighbors, the bar man, his plumber, and a potential new relationship with a girl named Wren. But besides these human interactions, there is also another story told and its about how Nick deals with one of his family members getting cancer and how their relationship progresses. As someone who has had a family member pass from cancer, I found this to be very accurate and touching. The portrayal was so beautifully done and every interaction and lesson is just so heart felt. I truly loved this book and everything in it. I would highly recommend it for everyone as it is equal parts hilarious and heart-wrenching.

Two separated sisters, one raised to be a queen and the other raised to be a monster, finally come together after seven years and the mysterious death of their mother. The story was advertised as being “ Three Dark Crows meets Wicked Saints in this queer #ownvoices retelling of “The Firebird”, a Russian Folktale. The story follows twin sisters Izaveta ad Asya. Izaveta is raised to be manipulative, paranoid, and above all a future queen while Asya has been raised to be the next Firebird, a mythical creature with vast amounts of power. Heres the thing, they are two ends of the spectrum, Izaveta being cold and suspicious of everyone and using lies to get what she wants, while Asya is soft to a fault, naive, and too trusting, to the point where she can barely even do her job as the next Firebird. There is friction between both sisters as they learn to adjust to the new sibling in front of them, as so much time has passed and so much is at stake. If Izaveta cannot properly handle the murder of her mother and taking over the kingdom she will lose it all, while if Asya cannot learn to do her job as the next Firebird everything will come down in flames and chaos will follow. Throw in a f/f enemies to lovers storyline and a cute but snarky scholar, and here we have this story. The overall plot was interesting with the court intrigue and the deceptions, I actually found Iza’s plotline to be interesting, more so than Asya’s. The story ends on a cliffhanger and it is confirmed there are more books coming in this series, so I can’t wait to see what happens next!

In a world where only the lucky few people are gifted enough to summon phantoms (or beings they can call up to fight for them kind of like the familiars in The Golden Compass), a scribe who was raised to believe she didn’t have one embarks on her first journey and slowly starts unraveling her abilities. The story has two main plots, and has multiple points of views, but the overall main POVS are Marcus, the Heir who just got his phantom, and Ash, his best friend and scribe who was raised to believe she never had a phantom. Childhood best friends are then thrust on a journey with a few other friends and a very mysterious and dangerous but flirtatious sailor (who’s quite taken with Ash). The first plot line involves Marcus and his quest to prove himself to being the next Heir and completing training with his phantom. The second plot line involves Ash trying to understand why she can suddenly speak and control phantoms and why she has always had a voice in her head talking to her. Both of them are trying to learn to control their new abilities against the backdrop of war, assassins, and various deceptions. Also there is a side plot that isn’t really in the forefront as I think the author is teasing it for a bigger arc in the second book involving the Mar (sea people) wanting to kill Marcus & Crew, a corrupt villain named Tann who is trying to take over. Overall I did like the magic system in this book and I had fun with the plot. The pacing is a bit different and seeing as its definitely only just the beginning of the series I do look forward to how the story continues. My favorite part of the book would have to be the fun moments between Ash and Kaylin, Ash was a great protagonist and her inner voice was fun to read.

Where to even begin...... I LOVE IT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED READING IT! Namesake is the sequel to Fable and my god, I was crying over how much it touched me. Namesake picks up right where Fable left off with Fable being taken by Zola and forced onto his ship. The story follows her as she navigates surviving Zola, meeting Holland, and going on a quest to find a rare stone that only her mother found, all the while trying to keep the Marigold crew from being taken by Holland and trying to free not only herself but Saint. The real heart of this book was the growing relationship between Saint and Fable, that beautiful kind of family love, that they would do anything and love each other no matter what because thats what family does. I adored their connection and the unraveling of what truly happened to Fable when Saint left her on the island. The reasons for the complicated decisions they both made and I just... there really are no words for the beautiful relationship. I did love seeing the Marigold crew again and I loved the relationship between West and Fable. West and Fable are two people who will do anything for those that mean something to them, they will shoulder all the costs and go to the ends of the earth, and seeing them trying to protect each other was a wonderful thing to see. Yes, they’re in love, but the beautiful thing is that, they found a family in each other and that was what was so beautiful in their relationship. I just adored everything about this book and thought it was a wonderful way to end the duology. ( Honestly, I wouldn’t mind more books... I so badly want to know more about Saint). This book had so much, from family love, friendships, love, adventure, deceptions, and above all, what it means to be part of a crew.
