Revenants is a horror novella published by @bdapublishing. it's set in the old west and features zombies.
The book follows Maddie. She and her father have been surrounded by war. They witness soldiers set fire to a building across the bridge. Curiosity gets the better of her father and he decides to get closer and see what's happening. But as Maddie awaits for her father's return, she notices several people shambling out of the water. The closer they get, the more horrifying they look. These "people" lay siege on the house. Maddie starts to think her life is over, but it's only just beginning. Especially when a dreamy soldier helps her evade death.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The writing is beautiful. It's a quick read at only 70 pages. My biggest complaint was that I wanted it to be longer. I wanted to get to know the characters more. Where it ended didn't feel like an ending, it felt like a beginning to an even greater story.
The zombies in this book were downright creepy and I was all here for it. Kid zombies are always scary and the ones in here were fantastic.

I read Burn The Negative by Josh Winning last year and
LOVED it. It was a Hollywood/Cursed Movie horror book.
Heads Will Roll is a Summer Camp Slasher that pays tribute to tons of horror movies. So thankful that NetGalley approved my request to read this one early! I absolutely loved how aware this book was. It even had a Paul Tremblay reference which made me smile.
The book focuses on Willow, who is know for her Netflix sitcom We Love Willow. After one of her tweets goes viral (for the wrong reasons), her show is canceled, her fiancé leaves her, and she's getting canceled on the internet. She receives a brochure on a secluded camp in the New York mountains called Camp Castaway-or as she quickly dubs it Camp Cancelled. Everyone there seems to have a past/ present they're hiding from. Everything seems great when she first arrived, but when campers start going missing Willow gets suspicious. She starts investigating and uncovers some dark secrets about the camp and her fellow campers.
Overall I LOVED this book. It has great representation. It's cheesy and gory. I read this very quickly, finishing it in about three days. It's super addicting and definitely a novel you won't want to put down once you start it.
I gave this one 4 stars!
This book comes out July 30th, 2024 published by @putnambooks. Thanks again to@netgalley and @joshuawinning for the opportunity to read and review this book early.

This was my first horror manga and won’t be my last!
I promise you will never look at snails, water, and even noodles the same after reading this one. It follows a city plagued by spirals. All the spiral related events seem to be building to something deadly.

A distraught mother takes a piece of her deceased son's lung and accidentally grows a monster from it. Let me say I loved the first chunk of this book. It was heartbreaking to see this family dealing with the loss of a son. And the monster grown was creepy. But then the story shifted gears. It became less grief horror and more found family. And while I love found family, it just threw me off here.
Whalefall by Daniel Kraus is a sad yet scientific book.
I really enjoyed this one. It follows Jay, who lost his father several months ago. Jay and his father were never close. In fact they fought all the time. But Jay feels the only way to lift the weight of his guilt is to find his father’s remains in the ocean. It’s a long shot but he has to give it a try. His dive starts off well enough, but when a whale feeds on a squid by him, Jay gets caught in the crossfire and is swallowed by the whale. He only has so much oxygen. And he has to face the dangers of residing inside a living being.
This story makes me never want to meet a whale in an ocean alley. I learned so much about whales in this book. See who said fiction books weren’t educational?
The grief and processing the death of a loved one was really well handled. This book hurts in the best way possible.

A very unique ghost story focusing on an entire street that is stuck in a haunted time loop. I thought this one was really well written. The story hooked me and I kept wanting to dig deeper and deeper into the secrets.
hat a book. It blends beauty horror with the legend of Elizabeth Báthory bathing in blood to stay eternally young.
The book follows Sophia as she gets a job at the new beauty empire in NYC—Hebe. Tree is the Founder and CEO of the company. She takes a liking to Sophia instantly and allows her to test out a new product known as youthjuice. The cream works wonders on the scars on Sophia’s hands. But both the cream and the company have dark secrets.
This is one of those “weird” horror books. It’s a bit trippy at times—so much so I had to reread a few paragraphs because I got a bit lost

Ear Worms by Ollie D. Hawkins is a short story centering on a man suffering from PTSD. Trauma and guilt has plagued our main character. But what he took back from the war will continue to haunt him…
This book is a sad and gory read. Know that it’s a bleak read laced with dark, British horror before going in. It’s only 53 pages, but it will definitely impact you. It’s also available on Kindle Unlimited!

I really loved this book! It’s perfect for horror fans who also dabble in romance on the side.
It follows Nena and Nestor as they find they find their way back to one another after being apart for years. One night when Nestor and Nena were love-struck teenagers, they snuck out of the house to go and find silver. But a creature attacks Nena. Nestor quickly rushes Nena back to her house, but she appears dead. Nestor flees but his heart never heals.
But years later they reunite by accident. Nena holds a grudge against Nestor leaving her. But they must put their differences aside to defend their country not only against human foes, but vampire foes as well.
The book starts off a bit slow but quickly picks up its pace. Once I hit the halfway point I could not put it down.
