I decided to purchase this book after it went on sale and moved it to the top on my TBR. The idea of witches and the seven deadly sins sounded more like something I would find on KU rather than in a traditionally published book, so I was excited to see the book at my local bookstore. However, the book was a letdown because nothing happened, with none of the storylines Kerri Maniscalco wrote being fleshed out. The book managed to make me feel as if nothing was happening and too much was. The beginning with the twin sisters was very intriguing, but after Vittoria dies, the book stalls. I also did not feel any romantic connection between Emilia and Wrath. Overall, the book was not bad, but it was not that good, and am rating it 3 stars. I will be reading the sequel when it's released, but I'm not impatiently waiting for it to get here.

This book was enjoyable up until its end. The author finished the book by portraying characters suffering from mental health issues with stereotypical behaviors. Tarryn Fisher reinforces society's proception that individuals with psychological disorders are inherently violent against others. I did enjoy The Wives until the final few chapters, I thought the book was going to similar to books such as Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train, but I was mistaken. I do not recommend this book to others and will not be reading any other books by Tarryn Fisher.

While I did enjoy Blood & Honey, this sequel did not live up to the first of the series. It lost some of the romance I enjoyed so much in the other book, and not a lot happens when it comes to plot. Looking back, it almost feels as if this book was simply filler material leading up to the final book in the trilogy. The ending was the most interesting part, partly because it ends on a cliff-hanger.

The author did add several new side characters, who did add additional intrigue to the book. I also found myself starting to dislike some of the original side characters for being wish-washy, while Lou and Reid addressed the same problems throughout the book.

Overall, I would give this book 3.5 stars, and I hope the author has a better plot for the final book in the trilogy.

Darkest Moon was a quick and easy read. I found out after I finished the book it is a cannon of several different series. I do plan on going back and reading the original series when I have time. Shifters aren't my favorite supernatural creature in the fantasy genre, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the book. I don't think I would purchase this book, but I did rent it on KU, and it was worth the time I put into reading it. Overall I would give it 3 stars.

St. Clair continues Persephone and Hade's story in A Touch of Ruin. The story does jump forward slightly from where the first novel left off and skips a scene where Persephone and Hades accidentally announce their relationship to the world. It is a scene that I would have enjoyed reading rather than just seeing the after-effects from the next day. Most of this book is about Hades and Persephone working on their relationship with several miscommunications between the two, but overall is still the sweet romance from the first book. I give the book 4 stars
